Undercover Cop Makes $30 Pot Bust -- On Bernie Goetz
Police resources are being used to entrap those big-time criminals, people who see the opportunity to make two or three $10 bills by selling some of their pot stash. That's how it comes off to me, at least. Michael Schwirtz writes in The New York Times that the subway rider who became famous in the 80s for shooting four teens who tried to mug him is back in the news:
Mr. Goetz, 65, was arrested Friday evening after attempting to sell $30 worth of marijuana to the female officer, the police said. The officer approached him in Union Square and asked if he was selling, according to the police. Mr. Goetz said that he was, and went back to his apartment. When he returned, about 7:30 p.m., he was arrested....On Saturday evening, Mr. Goetz was arraigned on charges of possession and the sale of marijuana, and released on his own recognizance, according to the Manhattan district attorney's office. His next court appearance was scheduled for Dec. 18.
The story was first reported in The New York Post, which tells a slightly different and somewhat incoherent story.

Thanks for serving the community, Mr. Police State. You should all be proud... you got a $30 tissue package of weed off the streets.david ng
The cops busted Bernie for $30 worth of pot? He is probably trying to pick up the woman. Are they kidding me? Where were the police when 200 NYers call about the Biker s attacking innocent SUV family with a 2 year old child on board? Wait a minute, the undercover cops were there helping the biker gangs!

I saw the headline, then I saw the reason. I thought, REALLY? This is what we are using police for? Except that $30 worth of pot is probably worth hundreds in moronic fines. Just to fill the coffers.
fed up

Again with "the SUV family".
I suspect, having seen one report on this, that the SUV ran over a bike or two in the beginning. I have never seen Gixxers or Ninjas interested in pulling people out of cars in over 40 years of riding. It interferes with going fast.

Radwaste; fucking yeah with the SUV family again.
Clearly you do not drive in the NYC area, especially on the Belt Parkway or BQE on which the bikers DO terrorize other drivers. These Black and Latino biker gangs are NOT interested in doing anything else but harrassing other drivers.
That SUV driver (or his wife, I forget which) called 911 several times asking for help. Yes, he did run over a biker; but only after they surrounded him and threatened him and his family.
When they finally caught him, they pulled him from his car and beat him, stomped him so badly that he needed stitches, they also pulled his wife from the car and only didn't beat her because civilians nearby intervened. Oh, BTW, the SUV family also had a toddler in the back seat.
If it were me, and I had family in the car when someone pulled the "stunts" these bikers did; I, too, would run the fuckers over.
It seems to me, Radwaste, that you are making the assumption that ALL bikers ride like you do. Nothing could be further from the truth. I'd suggest that you educated yourself and watch the videos of what these fuckers did to others on youtube.
These bikers (and a couple of them were cops) were terrorizing other drivers, and attacking people. This is NOT the behaviour that we should tolerate from ANY body, especially a cop.
So, New York's "finest" bust a $30 pot seller; but, they cannot help (and instead join in) a driver being brutally attacked by a gang. That's fucked up.
To make matters even worse, these bikers, and even the undercover cops lied more than Obama in making up excuses as to why they did what they did (the biker who braked checked the SUV claimed that isn't what he was doing, he claimed that he was slowing down looking for a friend. Ha! what BS!) or why they (the undercover cops) didn't stop the terror ("I didn't want to blow my cover" - yeah, that's right, making a drug bust was more important that saving a man's life - NOW, that's fucked)
I'm making an assumption here in that most drivers in the NYC area can emphathize with the SUV driver because he could have been any one of us. So, yeah, again with the SUV and biker gang. and again, and again, and again, until they are a menance no more.

I thought everyone had seen the video of the bikers vs. the SUV driver.
The bikers surrounded the SUV, one of them pulling close in front of him, then slowing down drastically, causing the SUV to strike him.
Surrounded as the bikers approached him, he gunned his engine. Which is precisely what he had the right to do.
Bikers do not have the right to force traffic to stop so they can clear the highway and do stunts for their own amusement. They have to obey the rules of the road like everyone else.
The man had his wife and toddler in the SUV with him. But even if he didn't, he still had the right to drive right through them. Once you detain someone against their will, which these douchebag bikers did, you're now guilty of kidnapping. Which means your victim now has the right to use deadly force to escape, especially if you have a reasonable fear of imminent bodily harm, which this driver did.
I have nothing against bikers, but they have to obey the rules of the road like everyone else. These crotch-rocketeers were completely in the wrong.

Well, judging by the videos the one of the NYC bikers posted, their whole group had no problem blatantly violating traffic laws that day.
So the NYPD finally gets some revenge against Bernie for doing their job. No room for vigilantes ya know. Thats the NYPD gang's job.

The thing is, these sorts of "major drug dealer takedowns" happen hundreds of times every day across America. They happen so often that they aren't considered newsworthy. We only heard about this one becuase of the notoriety of the suspect. Check with any employer and they'll tell you that having a drug conviction on your record is an absolute disqualifier for most of the positions they fill. We're ruining lives for no good reason.

I'm not sure how this got onto the SUV incident, but I have to say, those kids are not 'bikers'... at least they would not be called that from within biker culture.
We call riders like that "squids", a contraction of 'Squirrely' and 'Kid'... a term that originated from withing California surfer culture in the 60's.
Riders like that are not respected in biker culture; not from 99%ers or 1%ers.
