So I saw a squib about this piece earlier. And then Amy posts the link, but I can't read a whole sentence without feeling uncomfortable just because it's on Salon, and my response to that URL in the browser is galvanic and repellent.
A guy who says things like that was never meaningfully libertarian in his outlook. (I think serious libertarian personalities never go looking for safety in numbers anyway... That's the point. A 'Libertarian Party' is a contradiction in terms.)
There's an emotional manipulation to pieces like this —a presumptive eagerness to reassure the reader that he's not all alone in a world that doesn't care— that's seen only in lefty media.
See also the Los Angeles Times. (And see it quickly, because that thing's circling the drain.)
Maybe centrist and rightside media try to soothe and encourage their readership as well, but they're not so infantile about it. They don't presume to be heroically answering our neediness. Limbaugh is comedic... Which makes lefties think he's even meaner, which makes conservatives love him more deeply, and it spins on and on....
Facts are hard for you Patrick. That is not at all hard to understand seeing that your prejudice leaks out of your mouth so fluidly.
The article, like your words, makes an important statement. You'll note the words "But West Monroe is also home to the most famous anti-gay person in the world: Phil Robertson. I’ve never met Phil." Never met Phil but knows he is anti-gay.
I spent five months in the trenches of Monroe, LA in the early 70's and gathered information that put a despicable racist in Federal prison (still there today). Phil Robertson may have been who you wish him to be in his early years (you could read his book but I doubt you want facts) but today he is not. Not racist, not gay hater. You can go ahead and spout your hatred Patrick but if you watch the news, you are losing your battle to destroy good people.
Is that hissy enough puissant?

Not really, Dave B. I was expecting something more about Sarah Palin. Please work on it.

Oh, now that's the usual Patrick. Oh look little Patrick, a squirrel.
Dude the article you linked to was about Phil Robertson not Sarah Palin. Now why would I post something about Sarah. You are the one with PDS. You are one sick fuck.

Boy, some people just can't handle criticism. Look, Dave, you asked for my opinion and I gave it. Then you get all pissy about it? Dave, if you can't handle an honest answer, then don't ask for one. You thin-skins who insist upon honest answers crack me up.

Yawnies - Salon.com whine on how libertarians are all supposedly baby-eating conspiracy nuts.

I didn't know you ate babies, Amy. I guess that would account for your healthy, glowing look?
Just kidding. :-)

What's the best way to cook a baby? I'd go with stir-frying it and serving with salsa, guacamole, and sour cream.
Kirk Cameron shows up Stephen Hawking.
Not.
