Very wise words. Too bad the self-righteous prudes can't learn and understand this.

So: anyone come up with impairment standards for marijuana yet?
Radwaste at April 20, 2014 8:35 AM
Given marijuana was made illegal on the money of lumber and the fear of niggers raping whitey wife and daring to look white men in the face, whats say we find a reason for it to be illegal other than late 19th century racism?
Anyone come up with impairment standards for NyQuil yet? Or Oxycontin? Or Itraconazole?

Luj, if you are saying there are no consequences from legalization, you are already under the influence of something.
Of course, if your position is "screw everybody else, I just want to get high", then you won't mind being next to the fuel semi which driver is stoned. You'll get on the bus with the driver who spent all last night on the hookah.
And you will support both drivers keeping their jobs after they hurt or kill someone, because they were using a totally legal substance, as their employer had no way of legally enforcing abstinence for that critical task.
Thanks in advance.

PS - the citation of other substances which might impair drivers is the "two wrongs" fallacy. Try again.

No I am saying there were no good reasons for criminalization.
And as no one seems in to big of a hurry to design impairment tests for OTC and prescription medications I dont see why there has to be one for a drug that by all reports people use LESS when legal and less than alcohol even when illegal
lujlp at April 21, 2014 11:27 AM
Wow.
The impairment standard for prescription medication at Savannah River Site is "in excess of the prescription dosage". This appears to work, since SRS frequently appears as the safest place on the planet to work, despite the hundreds of thousands of tons of radioactive waste stored and processed there.
You simply have not disposed of the "two wrongs" fallacy.
Fatalities HAVE OCCURRED as the result of THC intoxication of commuter train conductors.
You approve of the status quo, you simply approve of that.
As for the "no good reason", well, not quite.
If you can't tell how MUCH someone is stoned, you can't keep them from operating critical equipment in a lawful manner. It becomes a personal judgment call unenforceable in court, so making the substance illegal is the simplest way to exclude it from the workplace to the maximum extent possible.
Again: if you just want to say, "Screw the public, I want to get high!", then impairment standards won't matter to you.
Radwaste at April 21, 2014 9:51 PM
So then if someone has a prescription to take a Vicodin every 2 hrs they are good to work then?
So then by the same rules if someone has a medical marijuana prescription to take "as needed" they should be just as good to work, right?
As for the "no good reason", well, not quite.

Weed was made illegal due to work place accidents.
Weed was made illegal on the idea that white women would fuck darkies if the smoked it, or darkies would rape white women if they did.
This is how the america public was sold on asking legislators to make it illegal, NOT workplace accidents
“Marihuana influences Negroes to look at white people in the eye, step on white men’s shadows and look at a white woman twice.”
“There are 100,000 total marijuana smokers in the US, and most are Negroes, Hispanics, Filipinos, and entertainers. Their Satanic music, jazz, and swing, result from marijuana use. This marijuana causes white women to seek sexual relations with Negroes, entertainers, and any others.”
“…the primary reason to outlaw marijuana is its effect on the degenerate races.”
“Marijuana is an addictive drug which produces in its users insanity, criminality, and death.”
“Reefer makes darkies think they’re as good as white men.”
“Marihuana leads to pacifism and communist brainwashing”
“You smoke a joint and you’re likely to kill your brother.”
“Marijuana is the most violence-causing drug in the history of mankind.”
“Was it marijuana, the new Mexican drug, that nerved the murderous arm of Clara Phillips when she hammered out her victim’s life in Los Angeles?… THREE-FOURTHS OF THE CRIMES of violence in this country today are committed by DOPE SLAVES — that is a matter of cold record.”
