Sexual Harassment Is Whatever Sneering Feminists Say It Is
Via Twitchy, Amanda Marcotte tweet:
@AmandaMarcotte http://gawker.com/high-school-student-suspended-for-asking-miss-america-t-1565510180 ... I really wish people would stop acting like it's cute when teenage boys sexually harass older women.
Yes, now normal male behavior, for millions of years of human history -- pursuing women -- has been deemed sexual harassment.
What do we expect males to do, sit cross-legged and wish really hard a woman will fall through the ceiling into their laps?
Thanks, JS
How was she harassed? Grown women can take care of themselves--at least, I can, without the help of an authority figure with a clipboard and a government job.

Tim? has nailed it; so many "feminists" are just pissed that they aren't the ones getting the attention.

Absolutely men should just wait around. It works. Here's a video to prove it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2SkqaCO9c4

Amanda went off the deep end several years ago. I fail to see how asking Miss America to the prom is sexual harassment.
This whole thing is really about the school wanting to exercise its authority anyway. It's about keeping a kid in line, trying to prevent him from speaking freely. The United States of Authoritarianism.

My neck gets a really good workout from shaking my head at all the unbelievable stuff Marcotte says.

At least Miss America has both compassion and common sense, unlike the idiotic Amanda Marcotte and brain dead school administrators.
A message from Miss America 2014 Nina Davuluri: "On Thursday, a student invited me to prom and gave me a flower while I was giving a presentation in York, Pennsylvania. I was flattered by the gesture although I am unfortunately unable to attend due to my travel schedule. I later learned of the disciplinary action taken and reached out to the school in hopes that they will reconsider their decision."

Tim,
There isn't enough money in the world to get me to ask Marcotte out. The one and only time I tried to discuss something with her was when she claimed that her laundry basket was designed by a sexist because it was curved, suggesting that it was for pregnant women to fit their belly.
I had the same basket, and I mentioned that it fit my hip quite nicely, or my beer belly, depending on how I was handling it.
Didn't. Make. A. Dent. I'm pretty sure that I could hit her over the head with Mjölnir and I would be the one worse for wear.

She's been an occasional subject for KC Johnson and R.S. McCain. Simply sorting through some of her public remarks reveals she a malicious head case.

Strange as it may seem, she's been appended for a number of years to a chap named Faletti. He's the IT tech at an abortion clinic.
Art Deco at April 25, 2014 8:19 AM
I'd wager that Miss America has more than enough chops and experience to handle some high school heckler (that's really more what he is--this was stunt, not love at first sight) and actual harassment and random comments from men than Marcotte could ever dream of. Besides, didn't Marcotte ever wonder about her former boss, John Edwards?
Some women have this fantasy of rescuing other women from those evil beasts with penises, so that they can all hang out in footie jammies and watch old movies together. It's not sexual, it's more like wanting to stay in 5th grade forever.

" a chap named Faletti"
That's a strange name for a vibrator :)

Well, in my hometown, if a girl turns down a boy's prom invite, she gets killed:

Fucking tragic. Daughter #2 knows both of the kids involved. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it. I just can't. I'm sitting here crying. I couldn't even go on my Facebook page, it's all over the place...
Flynne at April 25, 2014 11:04 AM
I'm still trying to wrap my head around it.
Start with a base assumption that children should never be allowed to experience failure or defeat.
Add parental outrage towards anyone who dares point out to your child they arent the center of the universe.
Add a dash of fighting your childrens battles as needed.
Cocoon from reality for about 15yrs.
Watch what happens the first time little Timmy has to deal with the fact he isnt going to get his way
lujlp at April 25, 2014 11:58 AM
I heard that story already today, Flynne.
Reminds me of a case from the early 1980s - maybe in New England as well - about a boy who beat a girl to death with a baseball bat when she refused to date him. (I assume they'd never dated.)
Being a cynical teen at the time, I assumed everyone was going to blame HER for not being more "compassionate."
But for all I know, no one did.
(I'm pretty sure it wasn't the 1992 Beth Brodie case.)

At this point, she makes a living playing the perpetually adolescent feminist scold. I question how much of what she says, she actually believes. Because I suspect that her behavior is often motivated by the desire to remain relevant among the Jezebel crowd, who feed on perpetual outrage.
She doesn't have what it takes to make it as a mainstream media personality, so she's stuck as a C tier 'intellectual'.

...a woman will fall through the ceiling into their laps
If that ever happens to a guy, he'd better hope she's petite. A Melissa McCarthy-size woman might cause some serious pain.
JD at April 25, 2014 3:50 PM
well Luj, and Flynn... that's just one other thing that most people don't bother to teach young men anymore...
What do you do with RAGE. They usta teach you to bottle it up, but you had an outlet. You ran around until you were exhausted, mighta played a sport or something.
And you learned that expressing your rage to others, would probably come back on you 10 fold. So, you learned to act in other ways, to shunt rage into work, or song, or wrenches.
But what does this cocooned kid have now. If his parents fight his battles for him, he has no power to fight them, if he is cocooned, he is also chained. If he is protected, he is also numb.
We dunno the reality of this for this kid, all we know is he removed a person from this earth in rage, and now he and everyone they knew will pay.
Can't get your head around it because it's unimaginable, and figuring out why, won't undo the damage.
But there are other people out there, who don't know how to deal with anything, who have never dealt with crisis. Helping them learn what to do is a beginning.

Had a little banter with the teenage MPs when I visited the Army hospital last night. As I drove away from the guardhouse, I was like, Hey! Were they flirting with me??
It's kind of nice to know I've still got it...although I'm pretty sure teenage MPs will flirt with anything that has boobs.
Anyway, a message for militant feminists everywhere:
DON'T WORRY. NOBODY ACTUALLY WANTS TO HAVE SEX WITH YOU.
Sosij at April 25, 2014 6:51 PM
Oh Flynne, I'm so sorry. What a horrible story. I can't even imagine what her parents are going through.
marion at April 25, 2014 9:26 PM
And people wonder why I say modern Western feminism is dead. It used to serve a useful purpose (back when there was real gender discrimination), died a noble death (the movement largely succeeded), but now all that's left is a stinking carcass of a movement that offers only harmful, nihilistic philosophies, nothing of value that actually helps young women live a better life, it only offers toxic ways of thinking. This is why my advice to young men is to look for wives in countries where women haven't been so poisoned with toxic ideas.

Well, a Yale student murdered his GF and got a slight slap on the wrist, years ago.

KateC at April 26, 2014 5:27 PM
KateC, that's horrible! And lenona, were you thinking of the Michael Skakel case (Kennedy cousin) who supposedly bludgeoned 15-year-old Martha Moxley to death with a golf club? That happened in '75, I think, in Greenwich, CT. Tragic, tragic, tragic, all of it.
I just have no words. The kids held a vigil at the local beach Friday night, which would have been the prom, but it was postponed indefinitely. Most of the kids wore their gowns and tuxes, and some of her friends brought Maren's dress on a hanger. They all gathered on the boardwalk and took a picture, with a couple of her friends holding the dress. I think the killer is supposed to be arraigned on Monday, once they decide whether to try him as a juvenile or an adult.
Flynne at April 27, 2014 7:37 AM
Flynne, no. Definitely post-1980.
The 1992 Brodie case sounds very familiar, but I can't imagine I would have been so cynical as an adult.
lenona at April 27, 2014 5:56 PM
Another blog calls her "Amanjaw" with the last name being an unmentionable slur. And there are too many women out there JUST LIKE HER. Avoid them whenever possible.
