A few days ago, I put in a link about the suicide of Chris Mackney and how his ex had obtained control over the copyright of his suicide note that blamed her and was using that to try and remove the note from the Internet.
Well, Marc Randazza has written a letter defending publication of the note and I find it very interesting in how it doesn't just go for fair use, but makes some interesting arguments I had never realized in this context. I think it's well worth reading on first amendment principles alone. While it deals with the suicide of a person, the letter borders (tastefully) on the amusing. Perhaps bemused.
