Of course, it is against federal law for a person under 21 years old to carry a firearm unescorted.

Jerry, I find that post incredibly condescending.
PS I am not one of those women who needs anyone to shut up so I can be heard. When Frank Pastorre, who is a conversational pig and has a boomier voice than I do, kept talking over me on some TV show, I told the host I was undoing my mic and walking off if I didn't get space to speak. I got it.
I just think it's marvelous how a female feminist can be executive editor of a "good men"'s magazine that claims to not be a feminist magazine and then proceed to tell men they need to stfu about feminism without once discussing how it is otherwise okay for her, a woman, a feminist, to lead a magazine about men's issues whose mission is to provide "a glimpse of what **enlightened masculinity** might look like in the 21st century,"
She must be a vampire, because it's clear she's never seen a mirror in her life.
Amy, re your link, I think some of her suggestions aren't bad, though all were written in a tone meant to put off and insult the men whose behavior she would like to change. Hardly seems like a winning combination.
I'm also curious as to the percentage of men and women graduate students and faculty in her field. "neuroscience, consciousness studies, and innovation" -- my guess is that if it is not already it is being increasingly dominated by women, meaning that she might want to offer her advice to female faculty as well as males.
I don't know how to facebook, really -- do you think that note was really written by Barbara Kerr herself? Or did she just post someone else's letter? Because the author writes "As an endowed professor who is often mistaken for an aspiring doctoral student, I’ve had my share of hilarious encounters with the alpha males in academe" which I find interesting because Ms. Kerr got her undergraduate degree in 1973 making her, 62ish? http://pre.soe.ku.edu/sites/pre.soe.ku.edu/files/docs/people/vita/B_Kerr-10-22-10.pdf
If Professor Kerr did write that, I'd like to know what her definition of "often" is.

Remember when friends at school would enliven dreary study sessions?

This is certainly the most enlightening article I have ever read at The Good Men Project:
It's an article written for the Daily Dot by Joanna Schroeder, the Executive Editor of the Good Men Project.
In the piece note where she says GMP "cannot be a feminist publication. We are a site for men, about men"
Read the article, read the comments.
It truly is enlightening.
http://goodmenproject.com/featured-content/men-we-do-want-your-help-in-the-feminist-movement-shesaid/
The article is enlightening.
What the article is not is a presentation of any amount of self-awareness on Joanna Schroeder, Executive Editor of the Good Men Project's part.

This is a bunch of poor-me, whiny-about-women crap. Researchers who do noteworthy work get noticed. Even if they have vaginas.

Without regard for the material being discussed, I accepted "most enlightening article ever at The Good Men Project" as a courteous warning.
(Don't know what the Good Men Project is.)
(Probably don't need to. Our planet is awash in suggestions for Projects by which I can be transformed into a Gooder Man.)

False-flag postmodern feminism. You aren't missing anything.

Reply to the list on men in academia
1. What if tey guy is just a jerk and also assume the men have less qualifications as him?
3. No personal opinions allowed unless approved by feminist overlords
4. No investigating things feminist dont want to you study.
5. It isnt a womans fault you dont remember her work, here is a handy list of approved sources you must use, or else
6. Have you filled your quota today?
7. Anyone willing to be told what to do by someone who doesnt have the authority to do so deserves what they get
8. In case you are too stupid to figure this out for yourself . . .
9. Dot trust the system we created becuase I think its unfair to women, (wouldnt it also be unfair to men then)
10. Yu are to ugly to fuck women, but we hide it in the smoke screen of BS about respecting our work.
11. Was this a Spinal Tap reference? How can anyone who is a fan of Spinal Tap be such a fuddy duddy?
