Moderation Is A Source Of Death Threats In Islam
That's what happened to a Muslim academic in South Africa. Stephanie Findlay writes in the Telegraph/UK:
A Muslim academic is vowing to push ahead with the launch of his woman and gay-friendly mosque in South Africa, despite receiving death threats.Taj Hargey, director of the Muslim Educational Centre of Oxford, a group of "forward thinking" Muslims, said his Open Mosque will welcome all genders, religions and sexual orientations when it opens in Wynberg, a Cape Town suburb, on Friday.
"You enter the mosque, do I ask you the question who did you sleep with last night? No. It's not my business who you slept with," said Mr Hargey, a native of Cape Town.
"Women will enter the same doors as men, women will take part in the service" said the 60-year-old. "This is the first time you'll see men and women praying together."
Mr Hargey says the Open Mosque, that has been in development for two years, is designed to counter growing Islamic radicalism in Africa.
"South Africans have become Arabised, they think they must wear the burka, must have face masks, that men must wear pyjama dresses," said Mr Hargey. "They think that is the only version of Islam."
With over 300 people expected to attend the first service, Mr Hargey, who has caused a similar uproar in Britain when he called on Muslims to ban the burka, says the response to the Open Mosque has ranged from ecstatic to apoplectic. "A 77-year-old grandmother just called me and said: 'All my life I've been waiting for this, for the first time I can go to a mosque and be warmly welcome,'" he said.
Meanwhile, Mr Hargey says he has received "a lot of death threats".
My parents belong to the oldest reform Jewish congregation in Michigan, Temple Beth El. I think it's been around for over 100 years, and the only deadly thing I experienced there was the rabbi's sermon. When I was still around in Detroit, the reform-ier temple, the humanist one, was merely thought to be a bit...odd. Not death-worthy.
"Scholar of the Heart" Ibn al-Qayyim (aka Abu Bakr, Mohammed's successor) on how a person is better off dead than homosexual. (Islam commands the slaughter of gays.)
Both of them - fornication and homosexuality - involve immorality that goes against the wisdom of Allaah's creation and commandment. For homosexuality involves innumerable evil and harms, and the one to whom it is done would be better off being killed than having this done to him, because after that he will become so evil and so corrupt that there can be no hope of his being reformed, and all good is lost for him, and he will no longer feel any shame before Allaah or before His creation. The semen of the one who did that to him will act as a poison on his body and soul.
There is an exception:
As a side note, in 2012, a cleric issues a fatwa endorsing sodomy as a means of widening the anus in order to pack it with enough explosives to kill bystanders in a suicide bombing. As Sheikh Abu al-Dema al-Qasab put it, "Jihad comes first, for it is the pinnacle of Islam, and if the pinnacle of Islam can only be achieved through sodomy, then there is no wrong in it."

Your screeching adoration of the most violent sects of Islam as the most authentic offers guidance to buffoons like this... Fuckups who're always looking to express their masculinity in the most reflexive, simple-minded way they can find.

Do you ever get the impression that Islam is just a gigantic practical joke? I keep wondering when Allan al-Funt will pop out of the mosque door.

Yeah... What kind of a name is "Funt," anyway? It sounds Semitic, maybe Syrian.

Right. The only reason that happened is Islam.
Check your watches: At 2pm PST / 2100 GMT, we'll all stop what we're doing, rise to our feet and piss our pants.
Because what happened in Oklahoma was part of a compelling social trend, right?
No disaffected American male blue-collar worker would ever perpetrate an act of workplace violence if it weren't for Islam....
Crid [CridComment at Gmail] at September 26, 2014 1:47 PM
Aw, shux! I got busy and forgot!!
Ok, 1500pst/22gmt, I mean it this time!
'Cause those muzlin's is a-comin', and they gonna fuck us all up! Remember: Because this is an irresistible & encroaching force, you can't trust anyone in your life not withstand the attractions that this religion offers. Rich people, poor people, old white women, Lesbionic Hispanics in wheelchairs, doesn't matter:
EVERYONE IS AT RISK FOR TURNING MUZLIN.
Kansas City will be smoke & ash by Halloween, because Islam.

…That's FUCKIN' horrible. Absolutely inexcusable conduct by one human being to another.
But Amy & Flynne, when they heard of these events (if they heard of them), didn't say portentous things on the blog... Things like "They're here" or 'It has begun' or "It's been one hundred seventy-three days since The Undoing…."
Does that mean Amy & Flynne are, in Steyn's estimation, "willing to live" with a certain amount of workplace bloodlust?
Answer carefully.
(Once again, Cosh offers a worthy tweet).

No I'm not Cridmo. But this shit had better fuckin' stop soon. I can carry but normally don't. I'm gonna start soon.
"A 29-year-old man from Seattle is the main suspect in a murder spree from New Jersey to Washington state.
Authorities say Ali Muhammad Brown was focused on one thing -- revenge.
Law enforcement say Brown told a New Jersey police investigator his mission is vengeance for the millions of lives lost every day in Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan.
Police say between April and June, Brown killed three people in Washington state, allegedly shooting them at close range. He also killed another person in New Jersey.
According to court documents, Brown confessed, telling investigators he strictly follows the Muslim faith and was angry about U.S. foreign policy.
If you haven't heard about this story, you're not alone. Very few media outlets are covering it."
Now, why is that, I wonder.
Diversity! Tolerance! Multiculiti!
Fuckin' horseshit.

Ah, so you're going to be visiting Egypt to see the wonders there? perhaps some mountain climbing in Algeria? or maybe some aid work in Syria? Should we set up a go fund me linkie to support your adventures among the natives, and show us how peace loving they are?
About the story at hand, I give this mosque about 3 months before it is attacked in some manner. My suspicion is that there will be a bombing, probably on a Friday during service.
After all, it is better to kill all the apostates in sitting. After all, that's all apostates deserve.

No, but neither am I going to North Korea, Cuba, Moscow, or the South side of Chicago.
My fear of twenty-thirty something men, especially in places where guns are banned, and civilization has broken down, is pretty universal.

Crid, the cultural, political, media and law enforcement elites have declared it taboo to speak ill of Islam.
That taboo has repercussions. Perhaps the best illustration is that mid and low level functionaries in England were so intimidated that they did not do their jobs in Rotherham, England, resulting in years of predation on hundreds of girls by . . . .
The taboo is based on a number of false premises. One, that Islam is a religion. It is a totalitarian ideology. Second, that it is inherently peaceful. Totalitarian ideologies are never peaceful, since they cannot allow competition. (It is an interesting question whether Islam will ever be able to reform itself, as it once did in secular Turkey. However, secular Turkey seems to be dying.) Third, that the elites are afraid that the unwashed masses will rise up and engage in genocide. Resulting in harm to those muslims that have reformed and integrated into western civilization. However, with the exception of the Balkans, there is little evidence to support that premise in western countries. Fourth, that somehow by implementing the taboo we will be able to appease and preempt the coming Muslim Caliphate.
The irony - or is it a paradox? I am quite confident Crid will correct me on this material and relevant point as he corrects my grammatical errors - is the taboo is likely to trigger a backlash when the unwashed masses reach their breaking point. So, far in Europe the unwashed masses are starting to push back in relatively benign ways. France has banned the burka. Political parties that support immigration controls are gaining popularity. However, no signs of a kristallnacht for muslims.

WILL SOMEONE ANSWER MY POINTS?… CONSIDER THE QUESTIONS AND *ANSWER* THEM? JESUS CHRIST. Do think people can't tell when you failed to respond specifically? It's like talking to drunks about stock options... 'Urp!'
> Ah, so you're going to be visiting Egypt
Aggie, I never paid any attention to you beyond recognizing the signature, and you've been here for years... The comments were apparently too flavorless to remember. After the thing a couple weeks ago (perhaps because your failings were so similar to Art Deco's), I've realized why you're no fun:
YOU WON'T CONVERSE. [A.] You won't acknowledge the positions of others; you won't respond to any information or inquires that are presented to you. [B.] You won't offer, in clear affirmative terms, a position of your own... Nothing more than innuendo, which isn't worth critiquing.
For example, this one begins with sarcasm... It's inane. What the fuck does Egyptian tourism have to do with ANYTHING? Do you have to be taught how to talk, then to read, then to exchange views?
Besides, you never got back to me about this the other day: Are you also the Unix guy?
> the cultural, political, media and law
> enforcement elites have declared it
> taboo to speak ill of Islam.
That's a little bit teenage-melodramatic. You can speak ill of anything you want. I've been saying shitty things about Islam, and most everything else on the planet, on this blog for the last ten years. In person, I'm worse.
Yeah, sure... There are a lot of people who are too naive to understand that human nature isn't naturally pleasant and fluffy, but those are the kind of people who resist hearing any information that they don't already have. It's as if they're afraid that thinking about one more thing might require them to think about yet another... And they're scared of the work.
So it's equally easy to sit there and not be afraid, or to sit there and be afraid, than it is to move forward and gain some insight.
Which kind of person are you and Amy?
> One, that Islam is a religion.
> It is a totalitarian ideology.
Oh, for fuck's sake… You've got an "unwashed mass" in your underpants. Flynne will send you $5 if you can explain how Kristallnacht is relevant to this discussion, and on whose behalf you intended to summon sympathy in mentioning it.
Crid [CridComment at Gmail] at September 27, 2014 2:49 PM

How does that respond to the comment?

Tel that to the guy they arrested and jailed for creating a video that caused a "spontaneous uprising" that evolved into a "riot" that coincidentally ended in the death of an ambassador.
