Soldier On What Would Have Happened If He Used Email Like Hillary Clinton Did
At IJ Review, Chad Longell writes that his ass would have been chewed grass:
If I had discussed classified missions, on a compromised server, with someone who did not hold a security clearance, the consequences would be harsh and career ending, far different from the protected status Clinton has enjoyed thus far.A senior intelligence analyst for the Army discussed the matter further with IJReview, enumerating the standard punishments that await those who disseminate classified information. Due to the sensitive nature of the analysts' work, they had to speak on condition of anonymity.
"There are no limits for the consequences that can be imposed on those who disclose classified information," the analyst told IJReview, "Depending on the severity, punishments can range from large fines to heavy prison sentences. At the very least, you will lose your security clearance for life and never be able to work in the public sector again."
While not the same situation, the analyst then described the fate of a colleague who was found to be leaking classified information:
"Every device that he owned that could transmit data was seized. Then he was detained, tried and found guilty. His clearance was stripped from him and he spent 2 years in jail. He was also fined $20,000. This person will never work in anything other than retail for the rest of his life."These strict consequences for releasing classified information are a daily reality for anyone inside the U.S. government. We are held to the highest of standards, and we should be.
It is disheartening that those in positions of power who abuse these rules are held to a different standard than the common soldier.
...and if you work for a contractor? The govt. WILL come down on you like a ton of lead, they don't make excuses.
But, y;know, little people an' stuff. I've already talked to numerous people who don't seem to care. Even Ollie North didn't get this favorable treatment... tho he should done a lotta prison time and didn't.
Certainly nobody was willing to actually make him prez.

Yeah, but she is a Democrat and they all mean well. So, her motives were pure.
Now, if she were a Republican she would be branded as either an idiot or a traitor. Then she could be held up as an example that all Republicans are just as dumb or evil.
Frankly I think most Washington pols lack any true convictions. But this double standard of giving Democratic pols a pass because they are for the "little guy" is infuriating.

Actually, what she did would cause you to be fired at most corporate entities.

"she is a Democrat and they all mean well. So, her motives were pure"
She's a narcissist and likely a sociopath. But that's ok, because she's within the political "inner circle". Which is party agnostic, as far as I can tell: The Rs and Ds at that level are in it together, just two sides of the same coin.
It's pretty clear that Hillary is the designated next president, so anything that might cause her to stumble has to be cleared out of the way. The Rs are letting a whole circus of candidates try their wings, maybe as a way of identifying Hillary's successor, but it's clear that none of them have real, inner circle, support.
Really, it's kind of like the USSR once was: The Politburo makes the real decisions; the elections are just a sham to make the electorate feel better.

Not only that; but, at many corporations firewalls, etc., would have made it impossible for anyone to even set up a private email.
Of course, there is also the possibility that Clinton threw her weight around so much that the techies at the State Dept. actually helped her get around firewalls, etc. for fear of being fired if they didn't.
That Clinton feels above the law (as do many other politicians) isn't surprising.

I'm late with this, but I just had a thought: Hilary is running for commander-in-chief of the US military. With breaking security by this e-mail stunt, she has made it impossible for any US servicemenber to respect her. This in itself should be a disqualification for the Presidency.
