Camille Paglia would love this example. The girl handles it just right.

Brilliant statement from Obama's heir apparent, "Women have always been the primary victims of war. Women lose their husbands, their fathers, their sons in combat."
Sigh. Even in war, us men get all the breaks.

Love that video.
And unbelievable, Patrick!

Cops notice "abandoned" car - also known as parked
Cops smell gas near gas powered car
Cops use explosives to destroy personal property
Cops claim a loud bang was heard (when they detonated their own explosives) as proof that the items were dangerous
Cops claim their investigation found nothing dangerous in or around car, or in field test of exploded debris
Cops arrested owner of car for driving without a licence, even though no one witnessed him driving and his car was legally parked
This guy is sitting in jail right now for no other reason than the cops needed to cover their ass after illegally destroying his personal property. Which is why he was arrested on such a spurious charge.
He will spend all of today away from his family because the courts dont operate on federal holidays.

Good for the waitress. If you're going to sexually assault someone, at least make sure it's someone who can't beat you up.
By the way, "Obama's heir apparent" was a reference to Hillary. I've come to think of her as what Leona Helmsley would have become if she had gone into politics.

RIP, Anne Meara. I have to say, I don't care for the way her death announcements are being handled. They all point out that she's the mother of Ben Stiller, as if that's all she should be known for.
Anne Meara was a formidable comedienne and actress in her own right. While she and her husband Jerry Stiller formed a truly great comedy team, she could break out the acting chops when she needed to. Take for instance, her dramatic scene with Gene Anthony Ray (this is, by the way, the anniversary of Ray's death) in the motion picture "Fame."
She deserves to be remembered in her own right, not just as the mother of Ben Stiller.

Patrick - I, too, noticed that all they seem to say is that she was Ben's mom. And, I agree, she was a talent in her own right.
Although, it was always "Stiller & Meara" to me. Sort of like Abbott & Costello, Laurel & Hardy, Penn & Teller, etc. I just couldn't imagine one without the other; even though her husband did a couple of TV spots without her later.

Well, you know, Anne Meara did some things without Ben Stiller, like her serious role in the movie "Fame," which I mentioned above. And she had a recurring role in "Sex and the City," plus guest spots on various sitcoms.
They were married, not conjoined twins. I don't begrudge either one of them a chance to do some work without the other. I'm sure you don't either. Just saying, at least they're not like poor Ben Affleck, who can't act to save his life unless he's standing next to Matt Damon.

Anne Meara was a cool person. I had her in a bunch of casting sessions back when I used to produce commercials at a big NYC ad agency, right after I got out of college.

Holy crap, Luj.
And, Anne Meara and Jerry Stiller first came to my attention in a TV series they created call "The Corner Bar" in the early 1970s. I've never seen it in reruns. I wonder if the tapes still exist.
