Parental Problem
Wouldn't it be great if, when you wanted to go out for the evening, you could just tell your kids "stay!" and leave them with a chew toy?

Yes!!!!! It would make life so much easier at times. No more having to find a sitter or needing to bring them along or cancel plans if you can't.

I don't even need a chew toy. My kids are 34 and 31 and have their own houses.

If only they could be like that at six!

Forget the kids; I wish we could do that with a lot of our politicians!
Just give them a chew toy to munch on so they don't always nip away at us.

Nothing says you can't do that. Just remember to put them in the crate too.

It's not too much of an exaggeration to say that that's what they did when I was 10 or so. At about that age, my parents started leaving me to mind my little brother when they went out to dinner. They would leave me with the name and phone number of the restaurant to call in case something happened. I remember having to call a few times. There were a couple of times when my brother got sick, and once when a water line burst in the apartment upstairs from us. Every time I ever had to call, the restaurant promptly got my parents on the phone, and they told me what I needed to do until they could get home.
