And if you think you can avoid crowds at the stores by going later in the day for non-holiday-related shopping, think again. Most retailers schedule so many people for the morning shift that they're left with bare bones in the late afternoon and evening.
My youngest needs diapers and one of my toddlers needs meds since he's cutting molars and miserable. I'm avoiding shopping until late tonight and going to the 24-hour grocery store that sells nothing but standard grocery stuff. They have no special sales and don't share a parking lot with any other business that would. I figure going there is my best bet at avoiding the urge to kill someone for utter stupidity and lack of manners. Another reason I love online shopping whenever possible.

Why don't more people do shopping at church bazaars or rummage sales? I do that all the time in November and December and they're NEVER very crowded - or rude. For some young relatives, I bought a 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle for $3; it was of Neuschwanstein Castle.

Well, I'd rather dive into a swimming pool filled with double edge razor blades.
