This is the funniest video I’ve seen in years, although it is meant seriously. All women have to do to keep from being raped is turn around, hold out their hand in a “halt” gesture and say “Stop!”
If combat roles are to be opened to women then they should also register for the draft so they, too, can be called up if/when the draft is again needed.
After all, why should it only be "privileged" males who get called up for war?

"All women have to do to keep from being raped is turn around, hold out their hand in a “halt” gesture and say “Stop!”"
Something like this goes around Facebook frequently, for those snowflakes who think they have time to negotiate being attacked. One of them proposes holding your cell phone out as it plays a video advising the nearby that the attacker is being videoed. Nobody apparently knows that "whack it out of her hand" stops that nonsense right away.
But possibly thousands think that dicking with your cell phone is effective self-defense...

Interesting, and a nice round up. Also, that was a good call, asking various companies that charged a fuel surcharge what happened to that now that oil prices are much lower. Seems the shipping companies kept it as a profit center.
Given that the Usual Suspects shouldn't know what bacon smells like, that isn't going to help.
Bacon I can't eat is bacon I don't need.

It would be more useful if instead of the "halt" gesture the hand was filled by a large caliber handgun. That is also a universal way of saying "stop" and "danger".

Several years ago, at a local university there was a demonstration that turned into a riot. The local police waded in and broke it up; no shots were fired but some skulls got whacked. The next day, a local activist who was there (and helped incite the riot) was on the news complaining that "the police need training on verbal commands to control violent crowds".
UPDATE: Turns out one the Republican Congressman who called Emily Nussbaum a "psycho" doesn't even exist. So just to clarify: this Berniebro story exists because
1) Wonkette's Kaili Joy Gray is citing
2) The New Republic's Jamil Smith, who cited
3) Mashable's Emily Cohn, who cited
4) New Yorker TV critic Emily Nussbaum, who credited to a Berniebro a quote from
5) A Republican Congressman's Twitter account, who turns out to not even be a Congressman, but rather
6) A random troll who created a character "based on J.D. 'Boss' Hogg from the classic TV show, 'The Dukes of Hazzard'".
It's alleged his processing company "has been improperly classifying payments it processes in a way that could put many of the small businesses it serves at risk of thousands of dollars in fines, according to a new report."
Whoops.

It's snowing in places one would not expect snow, except in the high country:
One of the major complaints of the protesters was that white members of the Mizzou community, even if not overtly racist, implicitly believed their black colleagues were less qualified, and often acted in ways that betrayed that belief.
More aggressive affirmative action is likely to result in an increase in the proportion of black students who struggle academically. Consequently, Mizzou’s black students are more likely to conclude that the deck is somehow stacked against them because of their race.
The toxic combination of growing “implicit bias” among white students and an increase in demoralizing academic struggles among black students is apt to put additional stress on race relations at Mizzou.
In the end, then, the protesters’ “success” may prove ephemeral.

RE: professor calls police on student over dissenting opinion.
Yea, she was so concerned about her safety, and other females in class, that she called the cops.
Now, however, the school claims that they are going to handle it internally; not using the police and not making information public.
Clearly, they are hiding something.

So how many police agencies does it take to hold America at gunpoint, anyway?
18,000.
