It's true even if the homicide rate is small in 90+% of the cities and stays small but the homicide rate explodes in the 4 or 5 big cities with much higher "normal" rates.
Bet Chicago can say that when looking at city rates instead of inner city rates. Feel safer?

Meanwhile, Texas Rangers want $500 MILLION in tax subsidies so they can build a new stadium for themselves.
The same people who literally blamed the NRA for the Orlando shooting while the blood was still being mopped up are today demanding that Black Lives Matter not be smeared by association with the violence in Dallas.
She would likely be my representative next January, after a redo on redistricting. The primary will be held in August, and there are two Democrats facing off against her. Interesting.

When I was a fourth-grade child watching Star Trek on a 20" black-and-white TV with rabbit ears, I couldn't tell that Sulu was gay.
I must not have been very sexually sophisticated, right? Because the erotic fascinations of adults in ludicrous ('Outer space!') theatrical entertainments were not obvious to me.
Yet, weirdly, I could tell that Scotty ('Engineer Scott,' to the cognoscenti) had done a three-way in college.

Congratulations. Could you tell where he'd been shot serving in WW2, or does your spider sense only apply to sexual peccadilloes?

I think it was the left. Unless it was the right. I didn't find out until the show had been off they air for forty years, but it explained the awkwardness of that one Jeffries Tube shot, which had always rankled.

Mr. Google, of course, knows the ep I'm thinking of without even being given the name, which is cool because I have no idea. I'm guessing it was season three, when there was no money for planetary surface stories because they knew they were going to be cancelled.
Like in real life, when they knew they couldn't afford a good design for the shuttle because the whole of NASA had no future anyway.
