"Cockatoo's good-for-nothing cousin"? Like cockatoos themselves are such good and valuable creatures.
Stephen Miller writes an article pointing out that there has been no proven connection between the Black Lives Matter movement and the four black kidnappers who kidnapped and tortured a white mentally-challenged adult while forcing him to say things like "fuck white people" and "fuck Donald Trump," despite the hashtag #BLMKidnapping associated with it.
While he also points out that the media has promoted a myriad of hate crimes, most of which have turned out to be hoaxes, and with no evidence, blamed them on Trump supporters.

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" fans will recognize Eliza Dushku as Rapunzel and Tom Lenk as Flynn. James Maslow as Kristoff I would prefer not to recognize at all. And Whitney Avalon (who plays Anna) is the creator/writer/director of this series.
No problems with Rapunzel and Anna. Tom Lenk as Flynn has a rather monotonous voice. Yes, rapping is not singing, but he sounds somewhat lifeless. Also, he's too pudgy to work as Flynn.
James Maslow is even worse. Kristoff is supposed to be a burly, lumberjacky type. But while Maslow works out, he does, what we call, "training for aesthetics." He's a pretty boy. You cast someone with the body of Tom Cruise, when you needed someone with the body of The Rock. Still, he's a better rapper than Tom Lenk.
As Assange said, a 14 year old could have accessed his gmail account. I'm pretty sure "password" is in the password list used by script kiddies in their attempts to brute force logins.
And I'm pretty sure it was in the first version of that password list.

Free university in New York? why not?
Of course, "free tuition" isn't really free and is estimated to cost New York taxpayers roughly $163mm by the time it's fully implemented in 2019.
Oh well, we guess this is just a simplification in the process...why go through the bother of underwriting student loans just to have taxpayers pick up the bill later anyway? With the governor's plan, you just go straight to taxpayers for a handout upon enrollment. Moreover, taxpayers save on the interest costs associated the defaulted student loans so this is really a win for everyone.
Conservative commentator Glenn Beck cast blame Tuesday on the Black Lives Matter movement for the torturing of a white 18-year-old with mental health challenges in Chicago. The author and radio host claimed on Twitter Thursday the teen was a "disabled Trump supporter" who was attacked by members of Black Lives Matter after a video of four black suspects assaulting the young man was uploaded to Facebook Live.
As of Thursday morning, there was no information to indicate the mentally disabled school student was a Trump supporter, nor any link to the violent suspects and the Black Lives Matter movement. But that didn’t stop Beck from accusing the organization of being behind the attack during an argument on Twitter over whether President-elect Donald Trump used racism to win the election...
(snip)
Guess what makes Beck's comments on that case more than kind of weird?
The Daily Caller's Matt K. Lewis described the event as "evil." "That's what this is, it's evil, it's brutality, it's man's inhumanity to man."
At that, Lemon disagreed. "I don't think it's evil," he said, repeating the point for emphasis. "I think these are young people and they have bad home training." Then, he explained, "I have no idea who's raising these young people, because no one I know on earth, 17 years old or 70 years old, would ever think of treating another person like this."
The banality of evil, Don. You might want to look into that...

I didn't know there was a push to exonerate a traitor, but it in a post-truth world, why not?
Contrary to assertions by Mr. Dukakis and sympathetic newspaper editorials, recently declassified archival evidence leaves no doubt that Ethel Rosenberg knowingly and eagerly abetted her husband’s espionage. The punishment for her was unjust — she deserved no more than a 10- to 15-year prison sentence — but she was hardly an innocent and is not deserving of exoneration. She was in fact guilty of the charges brought against her.
Fake but "true", depending on a certain point of view. Thanks, Obi-wan, for that dodge.
But then Obama drops this: approximately one in six women and one in 19 men will be victims of stalking. Seems a little high, no? According to Obama's unsourced statistic, more than 16 percent of U.S. women will be stalked in their lifetimes.
...
But "stalking" as defined by the CDC may fall short of many people's idea of stalking. In the agency's estimation, physically following someone or surveilling them by other means isn't a prerequisite for being a stalker; simply sending an unwanted text, social-media message, email, or phone call will do.
There's been a shooting with multiple victims at the Fort Lauderdale airport. The news is still breaking, but it looks like it happened in the baggage claim. I think folks on this site predicted this could happen... it's just that it took place at the exit instead of the entrance.
Remember this the next time someone suggests online voting, or other forms of e-voting.
What we really need is someone distant from the current US debate, and yet with a great deal of knowledge of how foreign intelligence services hack into computer systems. Maybe someone like Sir John Sawers, former head of MI6, the UK's CIA. Here's what he said recently to the BBC on the subject of e-voting:
"Bizarrely the stubby pencil and piece of paper that you put your cross on in the ballot box is actually much more secure than anything which is electronic."
To be fair, that should be an indelible marker not something that can be erased an remarked.

Ahw, I've been following the Ft. Lauderdale thing this afternoon. I used to live there, so it has been of particular interest to me. From what I've been able to gather: The perp flew in from some location in Canada. He had a gun and ammo legally checked in his bag. When he arrived, he went to baggage claim and retrieved his bag. Then he took it to the bathroom with him, where he got the gun from the bag and loaded it. He came out of the bathroom firing and fired until he ran out of bullets, and then he surrendered. It's not clear to me if that took place inside the building or outside. There are from 1 to 5 fatalities depending on which report you look at. There are some reports saying there is a second shooter, but I read them and they sound sketchy. (There's always rumors of additional shooters when this sort of thing happens, and usually they turn out to be false.)
Since this took place outside the security area, it clearly would not have been stopped by any current TSA measures.
