So, I finished the first draft of my taxes today. Since Dodd Frank I always get revised paperwork so there is always a second draft. Talk about a stupid law making things more painful than it needs to be. Also, this is the first year I didn't have insurance. So I have to pay the 'individual mandate'. So that cost me $2,086. Talk about the best decision. That is only $174/mo. Insurance was costing me $680/mo and rising. I think it was closer to $800/mo this year. So I saved over $6k in costs and I have cheaper medical service.
Skynet...grumbles? I understand that Facebook will be interested in this.
A groundbreaking project led by a Florida State University researcher makes an exponential advance in suicide prediction, potentially giving clinicians the ability to predict who will attempt suicide up to two years in advance with 80 percent accuracy.
When people publicly rage about perceived injustices that don't affect them personally, we tend to assume this expression is rooted in altruism—a "disinterested and selfless concern for the well-being of others." But new research suggests that professing such third-party concern—what social scientists refer to as "moral outrage"—is often a function of self-interest, wielded to assuage feelings of personal culpability for societal harms or reinforce (to the self and others) one's own status as a Very Good Person.
Trump now communicates, often raucously and unfiltered, directly with the American people, to ensure his message is not distorted and massaged by reporters who have a history of doing just that. Unfortunately, it is up to the American people now to audit their own president’s assertions. The problem is not just that the media is often not reliable, but that it is predictably unreliable. It has ceased to exist as an auditor of government. Ironically the media that sacrificed its reputation to glorify Obama and demonize Trump has empowered the new President in a way never quite seen before. At least for now, Trump can say or do almost anything he wishes without media scrutiny—given that reporters have far less credibility than does Trump.

The cherry on top is I got to keep my doctor.
