The radical left wants to see Neo-Nazis gain prominence on the right to polarize the country. It wants to see our values and norms drowned in violence so that it has an excuse to eliminate free speech. It seeks to eliminate democracy by making the other side appear nightmarishly dangerous. It plots to impose a totalitarian system on the United States by empowering extremists to destroy the current system.

And their opposite numbers waving swastika flags want the same thing. The difference is that they don’t control the Republican Party the way that the Alt-Left and black nationalists control the Democrats.

You know, something just occurred to me today in the aftermath of the situation in Charlotte.

I was listening to a local radio talk show and the host was on a train of thought that meandered thru racism, Nazis, and the so called "Confederate Battle Flag" that so many people want banned even though it never flew over any Confederate soldiers.

And it occurred to me how progressives support hatred and bigotry when it suits them. Now dont get me wrong regressive do the same, but not as effectively.

Take feminism for example, when the crazies say things like all sex is rape and all the worlds problems are caused by men progressives dont disavow the entire movement. When BLM advocates shooting cops and ANTIFA members assault people no one expects liberal politicians to condemn them.

In fact they make the argument that you cant judge a movement on a few bad actors.

However when the reverse happens, when the crazies take over the skinhead movement, or try to take ownership of a symbol like the confederate flag progressives scoff when conservatives use the small number of bad actor argument.

Progressives push for the bad actors staked claim. They endorse thru their words and activism the radical element taking over because it affords them a high profile target to attack. Something visible and easily banned so they can declare a simple victory without having to do any hard work.

In their zeal to be seen as right whatever the cost they allow the conservatives sides racists and bigots to steal movements and symbols from ordinary conservatives.

In their desire to be activists for good progressives validate the haters theft of cultural icons because banning a symbol is so much easier than changing hearts and minds, and calling someone a racist make you feel better about the fact that you dont really do anything other than call people racists.

Problem is after years of leftist groups using violence without much consequence groups on the right have begun to do the same.

What happens when political power players on the right start using this tactic against progressive movements?

Quite frankly Lujlp at some point you see a civil war. The double standard only works when the privileged party has the force to maintain their power. So either things drift the one way where media and other left wing groups have so damaged their credibility that no one actually listens to them causing them to shrink and fade away as they no longer can get young adherents. Or violence becomes normal and you have a shooting war break out.
