Friends, I think she's here. Does anyone actually see a theater roof there? With flyspace behind a proscenium, etc? Google would never lie.
Dear Amy: Please let us know if you run into the shapely brunette with the cold eyes from last year, or the blonde with the scarf from the year before that, or Audrey Tattou from anytime at all. And eat lots of cheese and orange eggs.

Luckily, foie gras is not banned here, like it is in Chicago.
And I have been very close to that location - strangely, Google got you to rue du Louvre, on the other bank, but I am around here instead:
Odéon Théâtre de l'Europe, occupied by the rioting students from the Sorbonne and Nanterre in May 1968, led by Daniel Cohn-Bendit, Jacques Sauvageot, Alain Geismar and Alain Krivine. Stirring times, stirring times...

Stu, for almost forty years people have been writing sentimental things about those adorable little riots of 1968 in France, as if we must all be respectfully cognizant of the many changes they brought to Western society. Except that nobody can think of any. Has anything revolutionary come out of France in the last fifty years? In his decadent phase, Jacques Brel put on a sweater. In his decadent phase, Sinatra gave us the Rat Pack, Bay-bee! Vegas!
The Mexico City riot seems to have been more meaningful, if no less pathetic in its outcome.
With the passage of time, those riots look more an more like our own White Suits of Disco, an embarrassing fashion trend for a particular generation. A woman in one of the Reynolds podcasts says that one of France's peculiarities is that it's very patient with rioters, and presumes the kids are just blowing off steam.
For you to say "stirring times" about those riots is like the people who think Woodstock was actually a listenable series of music performances. (Hendrix excepted) (And maybe Sly too)
