Wafa Sultan: She Risked Homelessness To Escape Sharia Law
The courageous Wafa Sultan speaks out against Muslims beginning, little by little, to establish Sharia law in western countries, and talks about her own escape from Syria and Sharia and what it meant to her:
Here's Sharia law in Minneapolis, from back in 2007:
And here's how one Muslim portrays what supposedly goes on in Denmark. Pretty hilarious:
Here's another example of a parent who cared more about family "honor" than their child's life.
Thanks for sharing these, Amy. We need to take heed -- and action. At minimum, we need to speak up.
NOW protests the Promisekeepers. I've protested them myself with good, ole Marcia Pappas in the lead. Man, I need to call and take her to task for not protesting these creeps who make the Promisekeeper assholes look good. Sign me up, Marcia. Let's stop the killing and oppression of women in the name of Allah.
That first video especially. Wafta Sultan is very well spoken and we need to take her warning seriously.

She puts herself at great risk by speaking out. Amazing woman.

Good morning, T's Grammy-
I've had my head in the sand and hope you're willing to share about Promisekeepers. Beyond the "We men need to step up and take charge of our families" banner, what else are they declaring? I've never really looked at them, but if they're misogynists I don't want my hubby joining, especially since I have three daughters who need to be taught to steer their own ships....Thanks in advance.

Woops, never mind, just did a little homework. Yuck. I'm all for men being responsible for their families, but not to demand and seize that role if they've previously neglected it.

Disturbing. Very disturbing. What did the Minneapolis Airport Authority ever do about those taxi drivers?

Wafa Sultan is a bad ass. Ayaan Hirsi Ali is a bad ass, and I think she's super hot, too.
These women are inspiring.

Your posts are either xenophobic or trite. Do you ever experience life beyond the blogs?
Phillip at August 12, 2008 4:34 PM
Oh, so you're only reading this post (and apparently, a good deal of other posts I've made) because somebody is holding you at gunpoint? If you'd like us to call 911 for you, just give us your last name, your phone number and an address.
Amy Alkon at August 12, 2008 5:08 PM
Ummm....I'll give you my number. On second thought, I don't need an ass kicking from Gregg.
Jeff at August 12, 2008 5:31 PM
So posting about the evils of sharia makes you a trite xenophobe? Huh.
the wolf at August 13, 2008 7:28 AM
Its kinda funny Amy, according to Phillip you are a xenophone for taking Wafa seriously. So what does that make Wafa?
