Imagine paying to have centrally-composed text delivered to your home on paper.... Text that includes advertising!
What will they think of next?

Twitter has taken some juice out of blogging. Consider Kaus and Cosh, each of whom excels in both media.
Kaus's tweets are good and funny, but he says he hasn't found many ideas that aren't better served by a full blog post.
Meanwhile, Cosh is going nuts with Twitter, and his offerings are good and funny too... But his update his blog less frequently. (He'd been slowing down before Twitter came around anyway, as if actually writing for a living was distracting him.)
No magic truth about journalism in the internet age here, it's just an interesting contrast in similarly witty personalities. Cosh seems happy just to give a punchline, whereas a Kaus prefers to serve the whole moment.

I ordered it Amy! Maybe for Christmas I'll build you a robot.
I use Twitter to find interesting blog posts and to post links to stuff I blog or find interesting. Will have to check out Cosh's.
P.S. Bought the subscrip for my 9-year-old neighbor, Dinosaur Boy, for his birthday. Perfect bargain gift! Gave him this picture, plus the cover image, wrapped up in a box, to let him know what was coming:
I subscribed through your link. It's a good deal. Thanks.

If I may possibly --perhaps you ought to take into account adding some images. I dont mean to disrespect what youve said; its very enlightening, indeed. However, I believe would respond to it much more positively if they could be something tangible to your ideas. Keep it up, but put a little much more into it next time.
