Pat Condell: "Filthy Kaffir Who Will Burn In Hell"
On banning the burka and feminist silence on the subject.
Here's a post on Feministing criticizing Sarko's burka ban. For those who assume France treats religion as we do, see this, from therevealer, on laïcité -- which translates roughly as "secularism":
Although passed only a century ago, the law of secularism was incorporated into the First Article of the Constitution of the French Fifth Republic. Some might say that France has taken this concept too far, with the 2004 law banning religious symbols, such as the hijab, Christian cross and Star of David, in school.
Fjordman has more on American feminism's support for Islam's sick practices at Islam Watch:
Dr. Wairimu Njambi is an Assistant Professor of "Women's Studies" at the Florida Atlantic University. Much of her scholarship is dedicated to advancing the notion that the cruel practice of female genital mutilation (FGM) is actually a triumph for Feminism and that it is hateful to suggest otherwise. According to Njambi "anti-FGM discourse perpetuates a colonialist assumption by universalizing a particular western image of a 'normal' body and sexuality."
At least she's probably in the minority. Feminist.com comes out against the practice, and other feminist sites do as well. But there does seem to be a bit of a controversy. Ick.
thanks, kishke (Condell link)

I hate the veil for several reasons:
1. You're not that pretty or desirable to have to wear a veil.
2. The fact that western women can walk around as they so please without socially sanctioned rape occuring should tell you something about its meaning.
3. A fashion dictated by old men with nothing better to do than lead brainwashed women.
Can I walk around in your backwards society dressed as any other western woman would? Of course not, it would be considered offensive to your culture. Likewise your backwards customs are considered offensive to my culture.
On a side note my mother told me that her grandmother would wear a chador. YUCK!

I tend to like Condell's stuff. I give his anger quite a bit of leeway - after all, he's living on the front lines of the Muslim takeover. At least someone out there has the guts to tell the truth. Living in Israel, I pay the price, day in and day out, of living with the threat of Muslim violence.
That said, I think he does a really poor job of justifying the hypocricy inherent in on the one hand advocating freedom, and on the other hand advocating the removal of such a fundamental freedom. The safety issue is definitely a concern, but many styles of clothing present similar problems. Assuming Muslim women aren't refusing to be searched when necessary, I don't see a problem.
Nevertheless, you really have to feel bad for Europe. They built an entire light-socialist ecomony on the need for an ever increasing population, invited inside tons of people who are actively hostile to Western sensibilities, and are now stuck between a rock and a hard place. Politicians are afraid to say the truth, because Muslims have growing electorate clout.
What a mess.

womens' issues are not synonomus with feminism.
maybe female genital circumcism is an advancement for feminism. it is not for women in general.
i have a rather dim view of feminism and expect conduct like mz njambi's.

Sorry. Immigration has its costs. If Western countries decide to import large numbers of foreigners whose cultures sit at different extremes from their own, then there is obviously going to be tension, especially from those who take their religion seriously.
Maybe if white Westerners started having more children, instead of lauding the wonders of childlessness, then cranky old white men wouldn't have to upload lick-spittle videos on YouTube.

Well, yes, obviously that is the problem. The question is what to do about it, which is what Condell is addressing.
especially from those who take their religion seriously.
And especially if their religion is so bloody-minded as Islam.

It's a serious thing to raise a child, and to raise several or more, especially -- and especially in an economy where people are increasingly jobless.

If you publically stone homosexuals and adulterers, but think nothing of sodomizing little boys...
you might be a Taliban.

Any force, people.. ANY FORCE which causes so much witless sarcasm, personal bitterness and abject irrationality in souls of people I admire deserves my wholehearted support.
I swear to God, I'm going to send a thousand dollars to support Sarah Palin in whatever her next venture is. I mean it. If she does an afternoon talk show, I'm gonna buy a thousand dollars worth of the sponsoring detergent.

Note the bit in the blurb below about the bogus ethics complaints she's been drowning in this year.

I can't imagine she's looking at running for President in 2012. She's probably tired of all the bullshit and knows she can make millions via books and speaking engagements...
PS- Amy- I LOVE the ads. Next to this post on women in burquas is an advertisement to "meet beautiful Arab women" and "date Muslim women". I'm going to click on the "modest Muslim swimwear" just out of curiosity.

RE: Palin. Definately sending Palin money too. She is the real deal.
I heard a sound bite from her brother, she was spending 80% of her time fighting legal battles on bogus ethics violations and having to respond to vicious attacks almost daily by the vipers in the media.
Although, I can't say I wouldnt be happier if she spent her off time reading up on foreign policy and dropping the GOP like a hot potato. I think she'd make a perfect third party candidate (Independent Party?).
Whatever the case, I wish her the best. She is a wonderful person and not a sleezy dirt bag politician....rara avis!
Best of Luck, Sarah...Go for the gusto Kid!!!!

That "Sexy Arab Girls" ad cheers me up no end. If Bin Liner is watching it from his cave in Waziristan, he must be in despair, knowing that his global caliphate will never come to be.

By the way, does anyone in the forum remember who Fred Travelina was? Just curious.

Do those people at Dubai airport have a right to cover up their face while doing random search on travellers on transit at their airport? Are they promoting security or terror?
WLIL at July 4, 2009 3:03 AM
If those manipulative islamic people don't see the big dirt that existed in their own culture for centuries (while continue to point out minor dirt of other nonbelievers), don't do something to improve their own unsavoury culture and continue to accuse us critical nonbelievers of prejudice, that even a ban on their burka would not help them see the light or save us from their destructive, backward, irrational culture. Since the islamic people don't like us nonbelievers telling them what to do with their culture or with their clothing, they themselves should do something about it or stop terrorising and offending us nonbelievers in our very own private space.
WLIL at July 4, 2009 4:27 AM
If someone wants to modify their body drastically, genitals or elsewhere, I say go for it.
As long as they are over 18.
NicoleK at July 7, 2009 4:15 AM
I'm with NicoleK.
I'd buy this notion that FGM is somehow a feminist thing if ADULT women were choosing to do this to themselves. But something that adult women choose to do to their young daughters or granddaughters? Not empowering in any way, and NOT acceptable.
