ACORN And The Underage Sex Trafficking Project
International sex trafficking project in the works? We're ACORN, how can we help you? From BigGovernment. Part One:
Part Two:
Here's how this was reported by the LA Times' James Rainey. reason's cavanaugh writes:
Back when the still-unfolding ACORN hidden camera story started breaking, Rainey condemned the conservative media's unseemly race to the bottom. If he had been content merely to bury all signs of life under the reliably heavy snowdrifts of his prose (sample: "No legitimate news organization can claim editorial integrity if it merely regurgitates information from political activists without subjecting the material to serious scrutiny"), Rainey would have been OK. Sadly, in his zeal to exonerate ACORN, Rainey uncritically regurgitated some self-exculpatory quotes from local ACORN employee Lavelle Stewart, who asserted that she had sent Hannah Giles and James O'Keefe away after they claimed to be, respectively, a prostitute trafficking in underage sex slaves and a pimp with congressional aspirations.
Whoopsy! Film at 11!

Andrew Breitbart claims to have lots more of these tapes. He released a statement directed at Eric Holder yesterday, saying that if the Justice Department doesn't launch a full-fledged investigation of ACORN, he will hold a bunch of his tapes and release them just before the 2010 elections.

I saw that too Cousin Dave, and apparently not all of the tapes being held involve ACORN. Wonder if he has an ACE up his sleeve for Holder? Or other politicians (considering the 2010 election date)?

I recently read somewhere that a large portion of Republican voters think that Acorn stole the election for Obama. More people than Democrats ever thought GWB was illegitimate, despite the legitimate concerns and challenges regardibg Florida.
I think that if conservatives continue to focus on the unimportant misdeeds of Acorn and promote the electoral viability of ciphers such as Sarah Palin, their time in the political wilderness will be even more well deserved than it already was following the spectacularly inept and fiscally irresponsible GWB administration.

"...legitimate concerns and challenges regardibg Florida..."
"...unimportant misdeeds of Acorn..."
Ah. It's totally OK if it's associated with President Obama?
Radwaste at November 21, 2009 3:32 PM
No. 1 - This scandal is not meaningfully associated with Obama. 2 - There is no evidence that Acorn's misdeeds have affected any election results.
Whatever at November 21, 2009 8:07 PM
And the Florida election fiasco was not meaningfully associated with President Bush.
I see what you're doing.
"...spectacularly inept and fiscally irresponsible GWB administration."
Cash for Clunkers ring a bell (or are you part of the electorate that thinks "history" is last week's People magazine)? Continuing in the Middle East, under the exact same requirements of the War Powers Act adhered to by GWB. Corporate bailouts. These are approved by the same mindless, schizophrenic drones who turn around and mouth "corporate welfare" berating Republicans for tax law changes!

Whether or not ACORN was involved in election fraud, the answer is very simple: require photo ID for voters, and check the voter roles to ensure that votes are only cast by legitimate, living residents of each precinct. You have to show a photo ID to cash a check, which is surely a less important event that casting a vote.
Interesting how objections to requiring ID are often made by organizations (like ACORN) whose motivations are suspect.

better yet have mail in ballots picked up in person with proof of ID a month before the day of the election and have those ballots mailed in
no polling places with lines, no "oh i must be in the wrong station give me a absenttee ballot anyway", no computerized voting machine that are easy to hack no more excuses of how one day "isnt enough time"
Imagine a night free of wall to wall election coverage and jackasses explaining how this canidate is winning, now wiat this one is, and this is why this mean that for those people and not for us
