Dont want to use the wonders of modern life? Fine go live somewhere they dont have them.
Dont want to vacinate your kids? How about a charge of criminally negligent homicde should they die, or should anyone they infect die?
Also such children should be barred from public schools or parks unless wearing gloves, masks, and an appropriatly sized hazmat suit

I don't have any problems with vaccinations, except Gardasil. With three daughters, can you imagine the @#$% that I'm catching from the pushers?

I've got to say, as someone with high-risk HPV and the associated 4 times a year paps, my 3 girls will be getting gardasil. Just like they've gotten every other vaccine and will continue to do so. The only thing that has saved more lives than vaccinations is clean water. Do these idiot parents want to do without that too?
momof4 at May 24, 2010 7:14 AM
Momof4- My girls have all other vaccinations up to date (two went in a week ago Friday) However, there's too much smoke around Gardasil for my liking. More pediatricians are coming out against it; I guess they can forget getting any more Panera breakfasts from their Merck reps. It's being linked to CNS damage; I have one daughter who has migraines (risk factor) and another with cerebral palsy and epilepsy(risk factor). Merck has been in full denial mode, but like with Vioxx, eventually they'll have some 'splaining to do. It's a problematic drug that got fast-tracked through the review process, in tandem with a huge push to require all girls to get it. I'm not a big conspiracy theorist, but something stinks here.

Just corporate scum partnering with government scum to pad the bottom line while bringing liberty to its knees.

"I'm not a big conspiracy theorist, but something stinks here."
Then you should have no trouble linking to studies that show that "smoke", yes?

I won't disagree with the Gardasil/HPV questions. I even agree with questioning the Chicken Pox vaccine.
But some are so deadly -- there should be a requirement to be in front of a panel to justify your decision.
But that is in conflict with trying to be constitutional.

"I even agree with questioning the Chicken Pox vaccine."
A friend of mine taught 3rd grade until she had her twins. She said goodbye to a boy in her class one friday, and the next time she saw him was at his funeral the next fri. Chicken pox.

Sure thing Raddy- here's a link that makes for good reading, with lots of other links beyond. Sorry I don't have time to compile it into something concise, but you strike me as the inquisitive type anyway ;)

I'm old enough to have the vaccine scar for smallpox and young enough that I had chicken pox (as well as mumps) the natural way. MMR is fully justified, chicken pox to me is questionable. Morbidity in children is actually low. Adults are the endangered ones.
Mumps in adults is a sterility factor.
The reason Glaxo's Gardasil bothers me is that Merck's Cervarix is in the pipeline. The two are not compatible with each other.
What if I told you that your 3/5/6 year old kid has to remember, for the rest of his life, that he had an MMR from Merck or Glaxo or some other pharma company? What if that pharma company went out of business so he can no longer get booster shots? What about your 14 year being locked into a company that is no longer around?
What if your local hospital/clinic/... only carries Glaxo and doesn't carry Merck products?
Just pointing to some issues.
