Shocker: Yoohoo Not Good For You
Not so shocking -- man suing. Katie Drummond writes for AOLNews:
In an allegation that should surprise nobody, a Brooklyn, N.Y., man is claiming that the popular line of Yoo-Hoo chocolate-flavored beverages aren't healthy.Timothy Dahl, 35, might not be unearthing groundbreaking nutritional secrets, but he is raising eyebrows -- by suing the makers of Yoo-Hoo beverages for $5 million.
Dahl claims the company is guilty of false advertising, by promoting Yoo-Hoo as "good for you" and boasting that it "contains seven vitamins and minerals and no preservatives."
Rather, Dahl alleges, the drink is a veritable stew of hydrogenated oils, sugar and byproducts -- with very little real milk thrown in to boost its nutritional profile.
Yoohoo is good for you like Kelloggs sugary cereals are good for you. Basically, they're better than starving. Doesn't anybody with an IQ over the speed limit know this?

There are two possibilities - either he's one of the health police trying to "draw attention" to this terrible crime against nutrition, or he's some fat boob that a lawyer has talked into doing this, in the name of drawing attention to same.
Either way, he's good for a few minutes of laughing and pointing.

I wonder how he's gonna feel after Mott's whips his ass in court, and he gets assessed Mott's legal fees?
You can read more about Yoohoo here: http://www.drinkyoo-hoo.com/products/default.aspx
I don't see any claim about being "milk based".

News flash! Eating a whole jar of marshmallow cream will make you fat! And this just in... drinking alcohol causes drunkenness! Who knew?

I'm surprised there is a drink called Yoo-Hoo. I'd never heard of it before, which I suppose should make Dr Eades and others pleased. It would be nice if our nation had law suite reform.

Fewer law offices?
(Sorry, couldn't resist.)
They have Yoohoo in New York. It is vile.

Well I can testify that Yoo-Hoo and a couple of Tasty-Kakes are fantastic for suppressing the munchies from other intoxicants.
At least that was my experience from about 20 + years ago.

This reminds me of something I saw a few years ago about the Weight Watchers points diet. I think it was on Rosie O'Donnell's show, actually. Cool Whip was a "free" item on the diet, so some women were eating entire tubs at a time and writing to Weight Watchers asking why they were gaining weight. A serving of Cool Whip is two tablespoons, which is twenty-five calories and two grams of fat. A regular-size container is eight ounces. There are about 25 servings in that container, which would be 625 calories and 50 grams of fat.
People can be so stupid.

I looked up Yoo-Hoo and it says right on the website that it's a soft drink. This guy is pure stupidity!
Cool whip says 'edible oil'. Seriously... how can one sue over their inability to read?

Exactly, Kendra. I wonder how many people actually stop to question what the whipped topping is made of if it's non-dairy. I'd rather have whipped cream. In fact, I just did a bit earlier. A little heavy cream and a few pinches of sugar, served on top of three fresh strawberries dipped in a bit of homemade ganache. Better and more satisfying than Cool Whip, I'd wager, and it's all real food.

I loathe Cool Whip, but I love whipped cream so much that I make it at home, myself -- much better when it's not adulterated with sugar and preservatives. Mmmmmm. (Almost as good? Sweet cream ice cream.) And yes, YooHoo is offputting -- but regular milk laced with just the right amount of Hershey's Syrup and stirred? Mmmmmm.
I'm sorry, we were talking about frivolous law suits? I wonder if Mott's accepts contributions...
