Catch Me On The Radio Tonight
Tonight, 8 pm, PST, I'm on KABC radio (kabc.com or 790am in LA) with the very smart and funny John Phillips (@johnnydontlike). Should be about half an hour.

I totally agree with what you said on the radio tonight. Pretty much everyone acted badly and made mistakes over this Sherrod episode.
A good test for seeing who is a Kool-Aid drinker is a situation like this. The Kool-Aid drinker will never admit that their side acted badly as well.

I don't understand people's reticence to say they've made a mistake. Well, I do understand it on a psychological level, but it's intellectually honest and just the right thing to do, admitting your errors, plus you look better if you don't cling to your errors as if they aren't.
I'm always looking to see if I told the truth or not, always skeptical, even about my own conclusions...at least, I make that my habit. When I post researchers' work, I'll almost always write to them and ask them if I messed up. In two instances recently, AJ Figueredo and David Buss said, yes, in this small way or that. I posted their e-mails correcting me in both cases.
