Random Acts Of Firestone
There's the massive Uniroyal tire on the way to the airport in Detroit, and then there's this randomly placed apparent art object in Colorado Springs. Having spent years passing the huge Detroit tire, I found the little Colorado Springs one hilarious. Of course, the other vast difference between Colorado Springs and Detroit is in one's need to duck tree branches and errant birdies dropping poo instead of gunfire, home invasion robbers, and carjackers.

The Uniroyal tire is in Allen Park, not Detroit. Here is a comparison of the crime rates of Allen Park, Michigan and Colorado Springs.

You're more likely to experience gunfire, home invasion robbers and carjackers in Colorado Springs. And in L.A., for that matter.

Yeah? Well that would not make the joke work, and nobody knows it that way.
I have passed that tire for years on the way to DETROIT (not Allen Park) Metro Airport, where the pantybomber came in. When I tell people where I'm from, it's Detroit. And they don't have little fences to keep the criminals from Detroit out of Allen Park, even if the crime rate is lower there. My parents live in the Detroit suburbs, and there are sometimes terrible crimes right by them, even though it's a really boring place to live.

They should have gotten an Indycar tire while they were at it.

I wonder what you'll see when California frees those thousands of prisoners.
I suppose it's possible somebody will decide that nonviolent offenders ought to get out first, but I expect they will just cut the ones closest to the end of their sentences.

Kind of reminds me of those places with the giant donut on the roof. The only one I've ever seen was in Inglewood. Well I hope it was technically in Inglewood, it was on the way to the LA Forum anyway.

so, have you spent a lot of time in Detroit dodging bullets, or is this the Faux News stereotype version of Advice Goddess?
