Hilarious
Guess who said this:
Sadly, the Internet is the predator's venue of choice today. We need to update our strategies and our laws to stop these offenders who are a mere click away from our children.

The person in question was spot on with that!

He knows from personal experience.

Once a dick, always a dick?
Sorry, it's hard not to make Weiner jokes.

I just filled in his comment box to say "Keep your dick in your pants."

This is my favorite Weiner cartoon:

Ah, the irony of it all.

Well, I guessed correctly...

I plan on buying the Weiner action figure to go with my Monica Lewinski Barbie (complete with Presidential kneepads!)

"We need to update our strategies"? Not electing him would have been a start.

Someone prone to melodrama, undoubtedly. Yes, propositioning a minor is terrible thing to do. However, I am not ready to equate those who do so over a distance and through a computer to those who actually physically violate children. No, he is NOT "one click away from your child." He is one click away from COMMUNICATING with your child. He cannot perform sexual acts of any kind on your child over a computer. Yes, we should be appalled. Yes, this should be criminal. But can we please keep this in proper perspective?

So, why's it hilarious?
What Patrick said, really - Weiner is a douchebag, but he wasn't a "sexual predator", especially in the sense of that quote.
As far as I've been able to glean, every woman he corresponded with sexually was fully aware of who and what he was and was a willing, more-or-less equal participant in the behavior.
(Has it been ascertained whether he ever propositioned that 17 year old he talked to? And if so, did he even know her age?
But in any case, still, no - not the same, not remotely, even if he did.
That's icky and probably illegal, but it's still not sexual predation on an actual child.)

And the winner of the best Weiner supporting sign goes to Robert Gordon, for his catchy slogan, "Don't be so hard on Weiner."

I wonder if he emailed the same stuff to his wife. Probably not, sinced he loves his wife.
