"Senate to First Amendment: Drop Dead"
Those are the words of one of Volokh's commenters, Joseph Schmoseph, perfectly stating the upshot of this blog item by Eugene Volokh, "Senate Considering Outlawing Anonymous Online Speech That's Supposedly "Intended to Harass" the Person Being Criticized."
via @WalterOlson

Online speech? Make that include television as well.
Bye bye, Faux News, CNN, MSNBC, Bill Maher, Rush Limbaugh, etc. etc.
Seriously, I'm pretty sure the Founding Fathers weren't worried about hurting people's feelings.
Oh, and somehow this is Obama's fault.

The Violence Against Women Act is already in breach of the US constitution, so why stop? All three branches of government have a near complete contempt for the constitution and freedom and the American people accept this.
Perhaps we should have a constitutional convention and get rid of the damn thing so we can stop the pretense once and for all.

Obama's fault? not per se.
He could stop it, tho. Just say 'veto'. I predict he'll sign it, with the usual fanfare in Rose Garden, the 37 pens, and various women's "rights" representatives, Senate and House sponsors and Teh Won hailing it as a milestone against the 'war on women'.
Obviously, I don't think there's enough backbone in the House to stop this.
Publius, Poor Richard, George Orwell and Mark Twain all called to complain that they'd have to publish under their own names...
As for me, I've decided to use a nom de tavern. Call me Raylan Givens.

I belong to a social networking sight and list as an interest the constitution. Someone wrote that how quaint that I was interested in some old moldy thing written long ago. OMG! I had a lot to say back to this person. I really don't understand most people and where they are coming from. Obviously they know nothing about this country.
