Islam Versus The Bunnies
I'm talking about the Baha'i.
Is there a more benign group of religious people than the Baha'i? From the link above:
Bahá'ís believe the crucial need facing humanity is to find a unifying vision of the nature and purpose of life and of the future of society.
More from Wikipedia:
The Bahá'í Faith is a monotheistic religion founded by Bahá'u'lláh in 19th-century Persia, emphasizing the spiritual unity of all humankind.
Wow, there's some sick shit. Nothing like that nice, peaceful "slay them wherever ye find them" stuff from Islam.
Not surprisingly, the Islamic Republic of Iran is following Islam's dictates and going after the Baha'i -- arresting them for, well, not being Muslim. (Oh, and P.S. The Baha'i are considered apostates -- and in Islam, apostates are to be slain.)
From Mohabat NEWS:
Iranian human rights activists report that Baha'is are being arrested in several Iranian cities.According to Radio Zamaneh, The Society Against Education Discrimination reported on Wednesday that more than 10 Baha'i citizens were arrested in the past day in Esfahan, Shahin Shahr, Villa Shahr and Yazd.
The group also reports that a number of Baha'is have been arrested in Arak.
...The report adds that the homes of these citizens were searched and their computers, CDs, books and documents were confiscated.
In the past three weeks, some 20 other Baha'i citizens have been reportedly arrested in Tehran, Shiraz and Mashhad.
The Baha'i faith is not recognized as an official religion in the Islamic Republic constitution and Baha'i citizens face widespread discrimination in Iran in all walks of life.
More about Baha'i here. More Islamic discrimination against Baha'is here. And here.
Tolerance? That's only for Muslims living in non-Muslim societies like ours.
And again, these people are basically the religious version of daisies.

Islam is not just against bahais. It is against anything non islamic. Even zoroastrians who were the original inhabitants of iran before it became islamic were not tolerated and were forced to flee. The plight of non muslims in islamic countries whether they be Christian, Jewish, Sikh or Hindu or any other religion is always bad and they are always subject to officially sanctioned discrimination. And the plight of muslims in non muslim countries is a very good one like that of women in feminist countries....all rights and no accountability.

The Bahai world headquarters is in Haifa, Israel.
Beautiful gardens laid out on the mountain.
Wonder how they wound up in the "apartheid state" of Israel? Hmmmmmmmmm.....

In short, best I can recall, he wants people to be kind to other people, clean up the planet, think about their choices, stuff like that. I've known other Baha'i people throughout my lifetime and their religious goals seem to be pretty much as his are. Frankly, we could use more Baha'i people.

This is in response to the comment by Redrajesh...
The Founder of the Baháí'í Faith, Bahá'u'lláh (The Glory of God) was banished from His native land, Iran, to several other countries and finally to what your wikipedia article calls Ottoman Syria in the late 1800s. Bahá'u'lláh Himself designated to place where the tomb of His Precursor, the Báb (Door) was to be buried and where the administrative buildings of the Faith were to be built - on the side of Mount Carmel, Haifa. All of this happened before the State of Israel came into existence.
The Founder has prohibited the Faith's followers from participating in politics and in Israel, the Faith has specifically stated that it will not teach the Bahá'í Faith.
Hope this sheds light on this very interesting topic.
