Also Don't Go To A Job Interview Dressed As A Giant Penis
Or wear a big lifelike dildo on your head when standing up to speak at a City Council meeting.
Pssst! Ladies! Of all the ways to demand respect for women, dressing up like a giant vagina probably isn't one of them.
More here, 'Respect Women! Dress Up Like a Vagina for Equal Rights!'
I'll add your link, Amy!

We're witnessing the sad end of feminism as a force in American politics. Ann Althouse has a post up this evening about how Chuckie Schumer is very inquisitive regarding the sex lives of his female staffers. A complete tool who posts there as AllieOop thinks that's just dandy. I wonder if she'd give Chuckie a blowjob if he asked.

I remember when Spy magazine published this movie poster.

I disagree. The feminist sect of the PC crowd still has significant political power on the hill and in the MSM. But I agree with your fundamental assertion: The serious side of feminist politics is waning. But maybe it is at a justified waning? Outside of the special forces and certain combat operations within the military, what doors are closed to a woman who is willing to put in the effort?
Unfortunately -- this being my hunch -- this kind of feminist politics continue to thrive in academia. I haven't been around that arena in some years, but when I was the misogynistic tools of patriarchal repression were high heels & lipstick. Really, isn't a vagina parade just a natural outgrowth of that?

Ever notice the women who scream the loudest about abortion typically couldn't come within 10 feet of getting laid?

Not so, If you have one of these, there is always some fat, stupid, ugly, drunk, or all-of-the-above slob that will hit it. Just take a look around Walmart if you need proof.
I really hope they keep this up, I would love to see a giant penis show up and scare all the little girls into screaming fits. Or if they can't get Bill Mahr, maybe Louis CK could stop by.

As far as gaining legal rights, and changing attitudes about what women can accomplish in the workplace, yes, feminism has accomplished what it set out to do. The movement should have disbanded at that point, but that never happened with any 20th-century rights movements. Instead, they all went bad, and feminism is no exception.
Feminism could play an important role in the current age of uncertainty about male-female relationships, and attacking some of the current derogatory stereotypes about men. But it isn't going to.

Good point CD. Rights (among others) movements rarely if ever disband -- even when the battle has mostly been won.
For everyone in a movement that wanted X and eventually got X, they move on. Their motivation was based in significant part by a practical goal. When they are gone what remains is the hard core. This group was motivated by raw (and sometimes illogical) emotion. Their raison detre is the movement itself and not a goal. For them the boogey man of (fill in the blank) will always be behind every corner. IMHO this is why you will see a movement go from previously valid to one of almost silliness. And for these groups that ultimately morphed into that description, their power/existence probably remains only due to a sympathetic/supportive MSM.
For Feminism and the very valid goals it achieved, the remaining hard core then turned the movement into something even a lot of women bristled at being associated with. It's an ironic outcome when a woman says she wants women to be treated fairly but pauses when asked if she is a Feminist.
