Fighting LA City Council's Mobile Billboard Ban
Phil Miller, who took this photo, wrote, "This is on a flatbead truck parked on Laurel Canyon Blvd near Moorpark. Have no idea who put it there, but it might be the Lonestar Security guy." (Story here, about the City Council banning mobile billboards, at KCET.)
More on billboard battles in LA at LA Weekly. LA Weekly on City Councilman Paul Krekorian. More.

Seriously, that billboard ad is an insult to the monkey it tries to depict.

The banner is funny! I suspect it is the work of Studio City funnyman Sam the Thai massage guy who Koretz and the Cirty have ruthlessly illegally attacked in an effort to violate every right anyone has. Sam digs in and defnds our 1st Amendment.
I appreciate the reference to it being "the Lone Star Guy" but being the Lone Star Guy I ALWAYS put my name on everything!
The City is acting with even more fury as lone Star's and Sam's Federal lawsuits grind on and the City knows that they will be defeated and liberty restored.

You know when your 1st Amendment rights are being well exercised when the Reime goes to such extreme lenghts to violate them.
Fotr those that do not know, Free Speech is not excluded by the vehicle being a 'vehicle', US Supreme Court cases that uphold this go back to 1911.
In addition thelaws are beuing cjhallenged under 5th Amendment Due process as the law allowsthe police to seize any vehicle claiming it is a "Mobile BB", the vehicle owner has no right to any judicial hearing, taht is the part about no taking w/o due process. Through in the inability to define 'advertising'; How do vehicle owners know of the law's existince ( for example it exists in Rancho Cucamonga, but not Upland or Ontario) where the boundaries of a city are(East side is Burbank, W. side is LA you get towed away) and that 14th Amendment about equal protection.
Not to worrry, Mr. Koretz will personally foot the bill, not the taxpayer!

I wonder what would happen if half the signs were religious and not commercial? Or they started painting/wrapping vehicles and moved them 20 feet every day?
We sort of had this same discussion a while back.
