"Indiana senator wants the Lords Prayer made mandatory in public schools."
Back in the early '80s, the Alabama legislature took up a bill that would not only make prayer mandatory in public schools, but it even contained a suggested prayer to be said. Thing is, the legislator who wrote it was Baptist, so he put in a Baptist prayer. And the Methodists and the Lutherans and the Episcopalians said, "Hey, wait a minute..." And the whole idea died the death it deserved. And it hasn't been revived since.
I still haven't decided if that legislator was stupid or brilliant.
