I've been acused of being paranoid more than once but everytime I get a new credit/debit card in the mail I do the following:
1. Activate
2. Open microwave
3. Placemcard on micro
4. Close micro
5. Hit 5 seconds on high power
6. Nuke it
7. Open door, take out card and place in wallet
No more chip.

I am so glad I don't have a kid. The RFID dying every single time would be a pain in the ass. Let alone showing up at the school openly carrying a firearm would give teachers heart attacks.
