Homosexual Couple Sue Church To Force Her To Perform Their Wedding: Why Coercion? -- mpetrie98 at August 3, 2013 6:07 PM
From the link:
The legal landscape in Britain is different because there the Anglican Church is more or less as state-owned as the Post Office.
British law is British law. Why do you think there were the troubles in Ireland in the 70's and 80's? It was the differences between the Catholics and the Protestants. In the U.S. there is a separation of Church and State.
Bad logic Jim P. By that logic then why is pedophilia unnatural? It has been mentioned before in the bible and with other religions, even a religion Amy likes to rally against.
It could be said for many other acts from murder, slavery, sacrifice, etc.

I never said homosexuality didn't happen in early civilization, Jim P. Alexander the Great was apparently a homosexual, for example. What I was trying to say was that those ceremonies alleged to be homosexual weddings in the early days of the church may not have been such after all, as shown by the article I linked.

You're right, but at the same time how many are arguing for pedophilia?
And then there is the legal definition of 18 in the United States versus the Biblical definition of puberty. In some European Countries it is 16.
It still doesn't dismiss the fact that homosexuality existed back when. There has been a "war" on homosexuality especially from the Falwell's/Robertson's/Other Christians right for at least the last twenty-thirty years. I'm trying to point out the falseness of the argument.
There is a reason that Article Five exists in the U.S. Constitution. The Founding Fathers didn't know what would, could, or will happen. That is why the amendment process exists.

You're right, they may have not been marriages of a man and a woman. They were still a contract that was "blessed" by the church and the temporal governments of the time.

Maybe those early church gay weddings were not so gay after all.

If homosexuality is so unnatural and never happened until recent times, why was it mentioned in the Bible© back in 50 A.D.?

The Bible© has no such option.

Why was the church doing it?
