Kind of a long video, but worth a look: an outsider tries to drive in Manila. The traffic is indeed horrible. Metro Manila has about 12 million people and a single freeway. Driving crosstown will most likely be on surface streets -- it can take forever. I've never tried to do it myself; that's what taxis are for!
