Of course, by now you've heard of Eldo Kim, who called in a bomb threat at Harvard to avoid taking an exam. In this article, the Telegraph lists a few more real examples of people who took drastic measures to avoid obligations, including one guy who amputated his own foot to get out of working. There's got to be a word to describe people who do this, but I don't know what it is.

Back in the '70s, that was pretty routine. During my 7th-grade year, we spent the morning standing out in the schoolyard while dogs sniffed the building, about 10 times IIRC.

Stupid? But yeah, I know what you're talking about... people who will go to an enormous amount of trouble to do the wrong thing, when it would have been quicker and easier to do the right thing.

On the topic: it depends on whose bottom it is!
Crid: I am sure you could find other redeeming qualities in that young lady. Myself, I favor Emma Watson. Images abound.

Amy, I thought you might appreciate this bright young lady's childfree blog.

And now for a truly mangled Christmas classic, this rendition asks the musical question, "Why the fuck is Barbra Streisand not on Ritalin?"
