I think if it comes to another Islamic/Judea-Christian conflict, most of Europe is probably already lost. Russia is questionable. China might survive.

And the USA? We seem too anxious to diversify ourselves into oblivion.

In hindsight, a prescient novel was "Whirlwind" by James Clavell. Written in 1986, it pretty well described the West's interaction with Islam since then. In the final segment, the Iman tells his son that the West's individual rights are a weakness that Islam can leverage against them.

It depends probably on what happens in the next three major elections. I can see a fall of the republic, with all the problems associated with that.

The smartest thing any foreign country would do now is play in their backyards (Russia/Ukraine; Iran in Iraq) and let the U.S. look feckless and impotent.

At the current rate we might self destruct on our own and then that leaves the other countries very susceptible.

I'll have to look up Whirlwind and see what it's theory is.

You mean, like getting the US to invade other countries, and spend trillions of dollars chasing poorly equipped militia through the hills? Then, many years and thousands of lives later, withdraw? Having achieved nothing other than to make a bad situation worse?

The US is already doing a really excellent job of making itself look feckless and impotent.

Our foreign adventures are a shambles, but our domestic situations are swirling the drain in many ways. Things like this are not encouraging. As in Belgium, if you accommodate the ethnic cleansers, you just get more of it.
