Probably a part of it, but also society has trained us to see women as innocent always, even when obviously guilty. My favorite example is the "what would you do" episode where, what would people do if they saw physical + verbal abuse. When it was man vs woman, many interfered, called cops etc.
When it was woman abusing a man, most did nothing, several women effectively cheered her on.

I have high expectations of men.
Lena Dunham and Jezebel have taught me young Manhattan women are entitled c**ts.
So when the woman steals, there is no breaking of existing boundaries. She's just reinforcing what we know. Sort of a big, stupid b****, no, I don't expect better of you, you're just a young sexy sassy empowered woman getting one over on the man who is getting paid 23 cents more per hour than you are.
When the dude steals, he's an asshole, and breaking the high expectations we place on ourselves. So that dude has to be checked.
Also want to point out I found Waldo. Finally. I found him.

Why are experimenting with this? There's been adequate testing done on this in our own courts. They need to conduct experiments to confirm what we already know? When Lizzie Borden was accused of killing her stepmother and father, simply because the all-male jury simply didn't believe a woman could be capable of such a thing.

Men and white people are the only groups that have yet to successfully claim official victim status. We need a male equivalent of those women on The View to defend us.
Or maybe we each just need to grow some balls and start calling out bad behavior no matter who does it.

"Men and white people"
What the fuck are you talking about? I hear victim talk from white men all the time. Don't believe me? Just go on Reddit, a a liberal white male 20-30s site. I just want you to taste how they have embraced victim hood (hint:just as hateful and annoying as every other group).
Lena Dunham was born a rich fat white girl which creates a problem when you want adulation but your demographic thinks you're not pretty. So what's the course of action? Like totally make fat acceptance in your face confrontation a thing. She's sexy, and likes sex, and has sex, and is worthy of sex because she is constantly reminding us that being fat doesn't matter.
Except all of us non-rich non-attention whores already knew that. Plus she created a show in New York centered around rich white girls......to prove their horrible people? I mean that's what I got from it.
Also for all her real bodies talk apparently only whites exist in NYC. BUT it's cool she does that, cuz while she's fat and thus more "real".

Jesus, Ppen, take a pill. In fact, take several; they're small.
What part of "official" did you not understand? He said that men and white people are the only ones who have yet to claim official victim status.
You know, recognized as a class that is discriminated against, protected by affirmative action laws, etc.
Lena Dunham is not sexy, so sorry. And all the pro-fat propaganda in the world will not change that. Seems to me eating sensibly would be much easier than trying to shame people into pretending they like fat women.

Oh please Patrick. We put up with your prissy bullshit. My rage fill rants are why I enjoy posting on this blog, some people actually enjoy them.
Very few groups have "official" protection. White's can't get the "official" label because the whole point of it is to protect MINORITIES from the MAJORITY. Just label yourself a HOMOSEXUAL and you can have all the official protection you want as a white male.
It's going to be interesting when whites as we define them now are no longer going to be the majority. Personally I think there should be no "official" recognition of anything, it all goes back to the one drop rule that minorities have now twisted around and embraced.

Amy, I agree with you - folks might be afraid of speaking against the female thief because of being seem as attacking.
However, such hidden camera "experiments" can't take into account who is standing nearby. It could be the guy who got rather loud about the male thief would have done the same with the female, if he had been nearby.
He is, after all, a not small fellow, or elderly, or otherwise someone who a thief would see as harmless; so, he might not have a reasonable fear to not speak up.
I can't blame the others for not speaking up. Someone who is brazen enough to steal in broad daylight, in front of others, might just be brazen enough to do something more than steal. Violence wouldn't be out of the question.
Which brings up another point - how many of these types of hidden cameras "what would you do?" or "experiments", etc. go bad? You know, the ones where someone gets hurt. I was kind of waiting for the one guy to start hitting the "thief." If something like that did go down, would they show it on TV?

Are men held to a higher standard? I wonder what difference it would have made if the homeless victim was a woman.

Exactly. Either you, as a Good Samaritan, could find yourself facing a gun, or you could embarrass yourself in front of the whole nation, OR you could do the latter plus find yourself facing assault charges.

Ppen: My rage fill rants are why I enjoy posting on this blog
Well, good. I hope one day we'll actually see one of these rage-filled rants. Instead of the usual nails-on-chalkboard whinefests you usually subject us to.

As apposed to your 'I'm ignoring you by mentioning you by name once every 5 posts'?
