In The Tradition Of "Hot Or Not?" Let's Play "'Cultural Appropriation' Or Diplomacy?"
World leaders! Dress 'em up like intercultural Ken dolls!

As you'll see in the tweet below, "cultural appropriation!" mainly seems offensive to the offense police.
Indian and Pakistani pants (or whatever) seem to be unwadded at this woman's look. It's their self-proclaimed protectors who are in a tizzy over this. (Hilariously, what could be more "colonialist" than that -- taking over for the poor brown people who don't know how "oppressed" they are?)
This rant from a friend on "appropriating offense" is spot on pic.twitter.com/cINhWCHVLe

Meh. I haven't even seen the photo yet (can't access Twitter at work), and I already know the answer.
In a ballroom dancing forum that I look at sometimes, someone has brought up that the current form of all of the dances done amounts to cultural appropriation. Pretty much everyone else on the thread has given him an earful. Example: "There's a reason why Viennese waltz is called that... it didn't come from Africa". Dancers just wanna dance.

There will be blood in the street if Argentine Tango and Salsa dancers are told to not dance.
LOL!!!!!

This is simply virtue signalling by those with nothing whatsoever of value - so much so that they must concern themselves with trying to get others to do their bidding.
Sadly, they are woefully ignorant.
Nearly everything we do was invented by a different culture. Very few of them indeed acted honorably across any part of time or across their land.
Logically, it would be impossible for us to live at all without using a benefit provided by a culture which acted horribly.
The concept was invented by someone who simply did not know history, and it is repeated by people who also don't know where they came from or how they got here, preferring fantasies to reality.

The real travesty is that Abraham is another victim of too much plastic surgery. She used to be a cute girl.

Let us postulate a universe in which Indian clothing took over as the main clothing style in the US--wouldn't that be cultural conquest instead of appropriation? Wouldn't that be success? So this outrage seems to ensure that such success of a culture can never happen.
Consider how rap music is a major type of music white kids like--should it be stopped? Beyonce would be unemployed.
By the way, I guess we should give up wearing pants because they were first invented independently by the Persians and the Chinese (as best I can recall). And beards were first worn by....cavemen. Calling Captain Obvious!

No one would disagree that George Bush wearing a poncho is preferable to Leatherface wearing a Pancho.

Obama in a Mao suit is NOT cultural appropriation - that's just him showing his true self.
