Sex Differences In Cat Calls
Catcalling: I once did it for fun in Santa Monica to guys on bikes, in those tight bike pants, and they loved every minute of it. Grinned ear to ear.
Can't remember exactly what I said, but it was something about how great they looked in those tight pants.

People who deny biological sex differences tend to be the first to be shocked and horrified that there's so much interest in how women look -- interest we don't see very much of when it comes to men's appearance.
Of course there are sex differences in mating preferences, with men prioritizing women's looks (as what we consider beautiful tends to correlate with fertility) and women prioritizing finding men who are high status, Big Men On Campus.
A guy will date a hot barista. A woman will not. Or, as I wrote in a column:

He showed men and women photos of hotties and homelies of the opposite sex, dressed in either a Burger King uniform or biz exec-wear and a Rolex. When he asked which they'd go for, men were indifferent to how the woman was dressed -- picking the hottie no matter what she was wearing. Women, on the other hand, went for the homely business dude, and tended to nix even a hookup with the hot hamburger helper.
Personally, providing a guy who makes some remark to me about my appearance isn't screaming, "I wanna eat your pussy!", I will just say thanks.
This means I'm not a victim the way the women who get all bent are. I also don't get all frazzled and angry.
By the way, I still appreciate a remark I got while crossing Times Square back in the 90s: "Never seen a body like that on a white woman!"
Again, if you aren't a science-ignorant eggshell of a woman, that's one for the ages.
Imagine a Monica-like figure in Hillary's life.

Women who complain about cat calls are not disgusted by the comments.
It's a combo of humble bragging and virtue signalling in one.
I know from my own sister who publicly complains about being cat-called and in private complains when she isn't getting enough cat-calls for her ego and self satisfaction.
I would bet that those who made that video are lesbians who want to chase men away from their targets.

Just incorporated core crunches into my coffee routine (changing from situps, which apparently don't do much, and adding to the 10 army-style pushups I do every time I make a cup of coffee).

The guys who work out and take care of themselves are happy to be catcalled. The others know they can start working out or accept not being catcalled. Simple and straightforward. Like men.

Evolution is rather unforgiving. The build of women is highly constrained by childbirth and raising children. Too-narrow hips and both mother and child die during childbirth. For men, it is only recently that a pajama-boy can earn enough to survive. For most of history men have had to work unbearably hard jobs. A woman cannot work that hard and still have children.
The overwhelming sex drive men have means that they will do literally anything for sex, even get married and stay faithful, which is what the woman needs. They will go into coal mines, fight enemies, paint their house, and in desperate times even change a diaper.
If women don't want to be ogled, why do so many wear yoga pants? If you ask they may claim it is for comfort, but if that were true then men would wear them, because men are all about comfort.

The question is not how they would feel about being catcalled by hot women, but by repulsive ones. Everyday. Constantly. Bigger, stronger ugly women who scream obscenities and threaten and insult them if they do not reply. Over time it would get old. They might be flattered now because of the novelty. Even the hot doing it would get annoying if it was happening a lot.

Any sensible woman knows that just because a stranger is "hot" doesn't mean he isn't a threat, even if she responds with a smile. He may not leave her alone after that. It can easily get dangerous. Even if she doesn't respond at all - and if he resents that.
I PREFER decorum and men who understand the need for boundaries. No, I don't get catcalls, and I like it that way. (I can't remember the last time I heard OTHER women, even young ones, get catcalls either, mind you. Most men around here understand the need for that decorum.)
Btw, when two young women got off at the wrong subway station, I tried to give them some helpful directions - and some male stranger tried to get ME to be quiet so he could "do his thing," as he said. The women walked off - and he accused me of being a cockblocker and then tried to pick ME up and asked my name. Regarding the accusation, I said "did it ever occur to you that not everything is about you?"

It was amazing. I went to the beach (and you won't believe it) there were GIRLS...running around (let me catch my breath)...in tiny strips of cloth. The difference between that and naked was less than a square foot. And...they just sat in the sun! They played in the sand.
AND PEOPLE JUST IGNORED THIS! Not a comment. No assaults. Even though there were big ugly men all over the place.
Remarkable!
Granted, if you lower your definition of 'cat call' to 'Hi', then yes, cat calls for days.
