Between 1972 and 2015, the mean age of US fathers crept up 3.5 years, from 27.4 to 30.9. The percentage of dads in their 40s more than doubled, from 4.1 to 8.9 percent. Likewise, fathers 50 and above jumped from 0.5 to 0.9 percent. And the uptick in greying pops appeared across all races, education levels, and regions.
World War II is still with us, more than seventy years on. The discovery of an unexploded RAF "Blockbuster" bomb during construction in Frankfurt will require the evacuation of 60,000 people.
The Avro Lancaster that most likely delivered the bomb was a real monster, by the way.

I don't know how true this is, but according to David Horowitz, "Huey Long was once asked whether he thought fascism could ever come to America. His answer was 'Yeah, but it’ll come calling itself anti-fascism.'"

Maybe they're afraid that a bird might slip and fall if it flew and then landed on it?
A Greek Life retreat at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) was promptly cancelled this weekend after a banana peel was found hanging in a tree.
The surgery involves cutting the vocal cords. Opponents say removing a dog or cat's prime means of communication is cruel and unnecessary. Proponents say if done correctly, it can save problematic animals from being euthanized and still allow them to express themselves with a soft, raspy bark or muffled squeak.
To be fair, Katy Perry kicked it in the 'nads a few times first.

Interesting article Sixclaws, I wonder which family was there first.
And if, as she contends the dog are to scare away predators it seems to me that should any predators kill any of their livestock from this moment onwards they should be able to sue their neighbors and the state for every loss incurred via preadation
I just now realized that my post from yesterday should have said "bipartisan support". A little typo that completely changed the meaning of what I meant to say. This is my embarrassed face.
"Those who drank the most coffee (four or more cups a day) were 64% less likely to die"
Well, during the study, anyway.

There appears to be partisan support in Congress for rolling back Jeff Sesssion's expansion of asset forfeiture. Good. I support Sessions on a lot of issues, but he's absolutely wrong on this one.
