Felon Groovy?
Find out if the one you love has real convictions (the kind that require you to hand over your personal possessions, especially any sharp objects, to be put in a manila envelope).
For hours and hours of fun looking up friends, lovers and relatives, do some free lookups on criminalsearches.com.
For my own amusement, I looked up the woman Bank of America has put in charge of stonewalling me, uh, communicating with me. Just a traffic violation for her: "Red or stop, vehicles stop at limit line or X-walk," dismissed 11/19/2004.
Hey, that's awesome. The *other* Paul Hrissikopoulos has a boating violation! I knew he was the evil one.

Power blog post title.
Weird, I can't find anyone in my life who ever did anything wrong.
Crid [cridcridatgmail] at July 29, 2008 12:41 AM
I'm hostile, but I'm not violent.
And thanks, re: title.
Amy Alkon at July 29, 2008 1:26 AM
Paul, you look dangerous -- well, when in pitch-black rooms.
Amy Alkon at July 29, 2008 1:26 AM
If anyone can confirm the accuracy of results, please report in a comment.
Crid [cridcridatgmail] at July 29, 2008 1:43 AM
Sorry, criminalsearches came up negative for someone I know is in my home county records for retail theft (twice), battery (once), a paternity suit (not me), a raft of traffic tickets and cocaine possession (less than 28g).
After the divorce. Heh.
Radwaste at July 29, 2008 3:39 AM
Confirmed, Crid. There were 3 reports on an ex bf of mine, all verified. DUIs, breakins, couple of others. And now I know he's incarcerated in PA, which is wonderful news for me and the girls; I don't have to worry about him coming around here for a long time, and if he does, well, there's still an outstanding warrant here for a failure to appear, so I can have him arrested immediately for that. Thanks for the link, Amy!

My brother has a lengthy criminal record in several states, and he came up clean. Bummer.
MonicaP at July 29, 2008 7:15 AM
I am dangerous in pitch-black rooms. Well, with a few candles maybe.
Paul Hrissikopoulos at July 29, 2008 8:18 AM
Yeah, it's hit and miss.
Ran my ex, and he hit for exactly what I thought he would hit for.
Ran my fiance (the one, if you'll remember, that the apartment application background-check people swore up and down had a criminal record)...and I sure can't find it. Not even the guy in Utah that is supposedly my fiance.
Ever since they told me my fiance had a "criminal record" that was bad enough to deny us for an apartment...I've been trying to figure out what it is. :) Still no luck.

Well, I came up squeaky clean, as expected, but when I ran my ex, who SHOULD have a record in my state, there was nothing. Actually, there WAS, but not in my state. Used the sex offender finder link and it didn't show as many for my town as it should have. It was interesting, though that one that it DID show is my b/f's cousin. I'll be keeping him away from my kids.

So, there's a Jessica Lee Goldstein born 4 years earlier than me that lives in the same state of Texas.
I'm Jessica LeN Goldstein. With all this talk of identity fraud, that kinda creeps me out. It doesn't look like she has any terrible offenses, though.

Oooh, new toy! Shiny! Thanks, Amy!

I checked thoroughly, but my brother Magog's repeated violations of the flatulence statutes can't be found on that site.
Gog_Magog_Carpet_Reclaimers at July 29, 2008 12:27 PM
Dammit, site's being updated. I was hoping to run Ryan Kincer ...
catspajamas at July 29, 2008 3:26 PM
They took down the name search!
Crid at July 29, 2008 3:38 PM
Not liking the results, there is another me running loose, only two years older that has racked up quite a criminal record.
Purplepen at July 29, 2008 7:45 PM
Firstly, all you people are animals, with monsters for friends and savages for family. You need to take stock of your lives... You need to think carefully about the bonds you forge with others, and resolve to compose your alliances in a spirit of decency and respect for the boundaries of your fellow mankind.
I mean, Jesus. You guys are vipers.
Secondly, do you suppose that this website was so much fun that it couldn't last for more than a few hours?
I'd bet a lawyer named David Smith decided he didn't want to be confused with all the other David Smiths in the database (a la Purp) and threatened them. Or maybe a criminal who's since made good of his life called up and threatened them. Or maybe their server just crashed.
Anyway, it was a fun toy, even if it told nothing but lies.
Crid [cridcridatgmail] at July 30, 2008 1:28 AM
No, wait! The name search is back!
The quake musta shook sumpthin' loose.
Crid [cridcridatgmail] at July 30, 2008 1:31 AM
Just looked myself up. I really didn't know that I live in Arizona. Also, I'm almost 20 years older than I thought I was. Scary...
Rainer at July 30, 2008 3:01 AM
Nope, not reliable.
My ex, the perv, comes back with 0 records found. He had two break-ins that I know of, DUI's and at the time of his death, he was facing three years for a sex offense after 18 months of plea bargaining. Maybe his death kept that guilty plea from being entered (he was supposed to turn himself in and shot himself instead) but the others, not there.
His brother, who mugged a little old lady for drug money, was. With just the one conviction but that's accurate. He's one of those that found Christ in prision. Apparently, quite possible. There was a list of 39 Jesus Christs. (You know I had to do it.)
My neice's father, however, who the best thing my sister ever did for herself was back out of the shotgun wedding and who was ever after in and out of jail -- conviction after conviction -- wasn't.
T's Grammy at July 30, 2008 6:53 AM
My Master Plan is working... Nothing turned up for me (bwahaha).
Seriously though the only actual hit in my state for my name is some person that was busted for a traffic violation, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a dangerous drug. All apparently in the same day.
Remember kiddies... Don't drive through a red light while smoking pot using a water bong. It tends to attract attention.
Jamie (SMS) at July 30, 2008 6:57 AM
Frankly I think that's abslouetly good stuff.
