Look, I'm all for reasonable and rational criticism of our government as the representatives of the people - but at a certain point you have to pull over the crazy train before it goes completely off the tracks.
I've bungled a few thousand metaphors in my day, but who "pulls over" a train?

Murtha should be assassinated.
I know that that's an incendiary statement, but at this point, political violence is the one viable mechanism that the public has for restraining the political class.

It's good to know that our representatives are using their elected powers wisely, in the favor of their constituents.
House-cleaning in 2010 anyone?

Mike, even suggesting that is creepy, horrible, and primitive. He is voted in by people in his district. You are free to go there and do whatever you can to promote another candidate, show people why he should be voted out and engage in other peaceful means. You can also do as I'm doing -- publicize his sleaze and see if it's possible to get him removed from the Senate on ground like abuse of process, if that exists. Such peaceful means are slower and take much more energy, but they're the only way we maintain a civilized society and retain our humanity. This is not to be underestimated or devalued.
Amy I'm not going to go on the record defending political assassinations.
I'm glad that most people share your opinion.

Murtha has been a corrupted and twisted guy for awhile.
He doesn't give a shit about anything but his OWN PERSONAL AGENDA.

Most of the reps belong in prison, not making rules for us to follow. Rules that they feel do not apply to them.

Mike, let's not have the authorities paying us a visit, shall we?
You're asking for trouble with that statement, you just might find it, and you just might deserve it.
If you're against Murtha, fine, but there's no reason to make statements like that unless you're looking to be on the six o'clock news as someone picked up for threatening a duly elected official.
That said, Murtha's a dictator and total asshole, and dishonest to boot.

That being said, has anyone heard about the Diebold voting machine controversy and how easy it is to rig elections via computer voting? How do we know our votes are honestly counted? It is very difficult to rig paper ballots, which is why India still uses them (from what I hear). Also, it is extremely easy to rig a "computer voting machine". All it takes is a few keystrokes and "viola!".
The reason I mention this is that while I worked in the US State Dept. (back in the 1990's), I was told by credible sources that of the five voting machine companies operating in the US at that time, the CEO's of four of them were former CIA employees and the fifth was headed by a former NSA employee.
Gee, what a coincidence!

Shooting politicians is a waste of perfectly good bullets.
That said, if this health-care shit-sandwich passes, it's going to be an electoral bloodletting come 2010. No Democratic seat will be safe. If ANY Democrat runs unopposed in 2010, then the entire leadership of the GOP should be tossed out on its ear.
We're talking potentially a complete upset in Congressional power.
