TSA Denies Deaf Man's Claims
Mike Riggs blogs at reason, "TSA Denies Deaf Man's Stolen Candy Claim; Deaf Man Disappears From Internet":
The Transporation Security Administration claims that security camera footage from the Louisville airport refutes claims made by a deaf man that he was mocked and made to give up candy in his bag while flying out of Louisville after a National Association of the Deaf conference.
From the TSA's odious Blogger Bob:
After a review of the video, TSA found no footage that matches the information in the blog post, such as Officers removing food during any bag search and eating it, or anything to indicate that they were pointing at and ridiculing a passenger. In general, candy is not a prohibited item, and would only warrant additional screening if it alarmed. TSA does not donate surrendered food and drink items for health and safety reasons.

I read the guy's original blog post. In his replies to the comments, he seems frankly horrified that so many people had read his story. Now he has "disappeared". Odd...

Unless they post the video, I'm going to assume the worst about the TSA, based on the videos that I have seen.

Did anyone read the reason article linked in the post? There is good chance that his is a hoax. The slur used by the TSA, deafie, seems to be used mainly in the deaf community and is not something that most average people would use. The deaf person has also closed all his internet accounts dealing with this episode.
I'm not going to defend the TSA. It is Kabuki theater that does not keep us safe and wastes a ridiculous amount of money and abuses people in the process. That said I don't think you are doing your cause justice when you link to potential hoaxes and anonymous informants from a man who makes his living peddling conspiracy theories. I would stick to verifiable sources before you further marginalize yourself and your cause (which is a good one).
